Week beginning 22nd June 2020
BBC Bitesize lessons this week: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize

Week beginning 15th June – 3 day virtual visit to High School
This week, you will be attending your 3 day virtual visit to your chosen high schools! Your teachers will be on Teams on Monday morning at 11.00 to answer any questions.
There is no work from school this week, but the authority has set work for the 3 days: (if you are completing the task where you pin a goodbye message to the school gates, please keep to social distancing guidelines!)
Make the most of these three days to help prepare for High School!
Your teachers are all working very hard this week, preparing a special virtual leavers assembly for next week! We hope you have a fantastic week, we can’t wait to hear all about it!
Transition to high school
This week we are focusing on transition to transition to High School. We are hoping to set you all up digitally for next week’s virtual three day visits. More information with instructions and log in details for Microsoft Teams will be sent out via Parent Pay later this week. Please follow these carefully to make sure you are ready for next week!
Transition activities:
June is normally a very busy time in P7, filled with different transition activities. You can still access these virtually here. Take your time to work through these over the next few weeks and over the summer holidays to make sure you are ready for the big step! We would normally have a workshop from Scripture Union to help prepare all P7s for high school. Neil Spiers from the University of Edinburgh has created a workbook to follow on from your visit there and Jo from Nurture has created a high school survival guide, filled with lots of useful and practical advice!

The Center for Public Education states that the disadvantages of homework vary.
Homework is good because it gives students a chance to practice and internalize information presented during classroom lessons. It also encourages parents to get involved in the student’s education.
Homework should be banned because there is no evidence that it correlates to better learning or grades. Additionally, too much homework can detract from other important activities and relationships that are essential for the child’s develop...
