Writing task 1 - How Australia collects information on weather

Sample Answer 1:

The given diagram shows how the weather information is collected by Australian Bureau of Meteorology to provide accurate and updated weather forecasting. As is observed from the given illustration, the weather information collection is done via satellites, radars and drifting buoys and then analysed before broadcasting them to the public. As is presented in the diagram, the weather information is collected using three different types of sources namely, satellites, radars and drifting buoys. The raw data collected from satellites is basically satellite photos while radar information is observed from the radar screens and the synoptic charts are yielded from the drifting buoys and these three types of data are fed into a computer system to analyse and prepare the weather news for broadcasting.   After that, the weather, the news is broadcasted in different public media like televisions, radios and telephones. The final information regarding the weather is provided to the public via TV news, radio broadcasting and as a recorded announcement in devices like telephones.

Model Answer 2:

The given figure illustrates the process used by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology to forecast the weather. There are four stages in the process, beginning with the collection of information about the weather. This information is then analysed, prepared for presentation and finally broadcast to the public. Looking at the first and second stages of the process, there are three ways of collecting weather data and three ways of analysing it. Firstly, incoming information can be received by satellite and presented for analysis as a satellite photo. The same data can also be passed to a radar station and presented on a radar screen or synoptic chart. Finally, drifting buoys also receive data which can be shown on a synoptic chart. In the third stage of the process, the weather broadcast is prepared on computers. Finally, it is delivered to the public on television, on the radio or as a recorded telephone announcement. The given infographic representation, in the form of process chart, highlights the study of weather forecast by the  Australian Bureau of Metrology.

PARAGRAPH 1:

At first, information is sent by satellite . then, it goes to radar where they interpret the information into synoptic charts. Subsequently, it shows on the radar screen and have detailed satellite images and them analysis information which is given to them. Afterward, they make predictions regarding the information.

Finally, the information is ready to be broadcast by a huge computer server. Lastly, it broadcast by various methods such as the tv channels, radio and recorded announcements by government and it reaches to people of Australia.

Overall, it is a lengthy process to make a forecast about the weather and it has several steps. However,  make predictions and gather information via satellite and radar these are the two crucial part of the weather prediction.

The picture illustrates the stages to collect data on weather to have prestigious weather forecasts of Australian Bureau of Meteorology.

It is clear that the whole process has 4 separate stages from collecting and analyzing data to preparing forecast content and publishing them to the media.

In the first step, incoming information will be captured by satellites, radar stations or drifting buoys. In the next step, the collected data will be analyzed and forecasted to create visuals. There are three types of visuals: photos generated by satellite, screens produced from the information of radar and satellite, and synoptic charts created by all sources of data.

In the third step, all results from the analysis and forecasting step will be processed by computers. This step is called “preparing the broadcast”. After having the final broadcast content, the reliable weather forecasts will be published to the most popular broadcast channels such as TV newsreader, radio or recorded announcement.

The given data illustrated about the weather forecast in the Australia Bureau of Meteorology, is given by pictures diagram with different steps, divided into three parts: Information receiving part, analyzing part where to prepare the report, and broadcasting part, collected up-to-minutes. According to the picture diagram, it is clear that all information is collected by satellite photos and transferred to the radar system where this data is consisted on three major parts: satellite photos, radar screen, and synoptic chart that is get by drifting buoy. On the other hand, the data provided indicates that all these collections is transferred to the computer system where working team prepare the broadcasting report and send it to the T.V newspaper who explains to the public with the help of different pics and diagrams according to upcoming variation in weather, radio where the public do not have the T.V approach, to get the information, and telephone recording where the public is not present at the time and would get all information after coming back from their work positions. In summary, with the help of all these devices and collected information data, every country of the world would try to give the upcoming variation in the weather for saving them from any natural hazards.

Educatorian - IELTS Academic Writing Task 1 - Process - Australian Weather Forecasts - Prompt

Version 1:

The diagram shows how to collect and analyze up-to-the-minute weather forecasts by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. Overall, there are three processes, collecting information, analyzing, and preparing to broadcast, and also three different instruments for data collection.

The first part involves collecting incoming information using different devices that collect information from areas of Australia. A drifting buoy which is located in the sea/ocean collects data from the tidal wave pattern and radar in the mountainous regions, and satellites check the data from outer space.  The incoming data from these devices collates and will form images. The synoptic chart is created either by the data from buoy or radar. The radar can also create radar screen data and satellite photos from satellites. After the analysis and the forecasting, data will be transferred to a computer to prepare for the broadcast. Once verified, the report will be broadcasted on TV, Radio, or recorded announcement.

Version 2:

The diagram shows how the Australian Bureau of Meteorology checks its weather report from the collection of data gathered by different weather instruments. Overall, three instruments which are located in different areas are used to collate and anaylze the data.

The bureau needs to check data from their devices such as buoys, radar, and satellites. The drifting buoy records the pattern of the waves to generate the synoptic chart of the continent. Radar, on the other hand, can produce a synoptic chart as well but can also be used to create a radar screen on a larger scale. The satellite can collect photos from outer space to show weather patterns. All of these instrument’s generated data will be processed. The three instruments’ data will be fed to a computer, and it will be prepared for future broadcast. The broadcasting of up-to-the-minute information will be by TV via a newsreader, Radio, and recorded announcements.

The diagram illustrates the process of collecting how up-to-date data about weather conditio n s is collected in order for valid accurate weather forecast demonstration reports to be produced by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.

Overall, there are three stages in the production of forecas t s – collection of weather data, computer analysis, and production and broadcasting of weather bulletins . Meanwhile, the information goes through three factors such as satellite, radar and drifting buoy .

In the first stage, received the information, including temperature and air pressure readings, and humidity levels, received from radar, sea buoys and weather satellites is analysed by advanced computers using complicated mathematical models. This allows for the production of satellite photos and radar screenshots which show rain and cloud cover , and marine synoptic charts which indicate the changes in pressure levels for the land and sea in Australia.
