Easter Activities for the Classroom

We’ve curated several Easter activities for the classroom that celebrate the holiday while helping students build their reading, writing, and math skills! Celebrating holidays like Easter in the classroom connects students from different cultures and backgrounds. By incorporating the holiday into the school day through themed activities, such as the ones throughout this page, teachers are providing a space for students to enjoy a celebration while practicing key skills for school.

1. Springtime Bunny Reading and Writing Activities

These Easter activities for kids help them practice their reading and writing skills in more ways than one! Included is a nonfiction passage about the cottontail rabbit with comprehension questions, a chart for students to fill out, identifying the difference between fact and opinion, and a writing prompt that lets them explore their own opinions.

Printable and available as an online activity, this ELA resource for elementary students helps them practice their close reading skills while they have fun.

2. Easter Author’s Purpose Activity

This worksheet, best for middle- and high-schoolers, tasks students with identifying the author’s purpose in several Easter-themed text ideas (such as a recipe for eggs, a poem about Easter, a speech about candy, etc.). Then, students are asked to write about one of the text ideas and keep their purpose in mind.

A great way to have students creatively practice key ELA skills, this Easter activity for teens is great in both physical and virtual formats.

3. Grammatical Easter Egg Hunt

Find that your middle or high school students are struggling with grammar in their essays and other assignments? This Easter activity is sure to help. The only prep is to print the “sentences” sheet, cut the sentences out, and place them in Easter eggs. Students are then tasked with opening each Easter egg, reading the sentence, and identifying the grammar mistakes by writing them down on their own worksheet.

This resource, made for Google Drive, covers several grammar concepts, including comma rules, semicolon use, dialogue, and so on—it is a sure way to help your students remember common grammar mistakes and rules that will help them in their own writing process.

Math Easter Activities for the Classroom

Next up – each of the following free, fun math Easter activities is more challenging and captivating than the last! Covering basic operations, geometry, or graphing, these worksheets are perfect for distribution at any point in your class day. 

1. Free Easter Math Worksheet – Math Mazes

This Easter math activity, perfect for independent learning, group work, or even homework, quizzes your elementary students on the basic four math operations.

3. Easter Egg Hunt – Scatter Plot Activity

The last of these printable Easter activities , this scatter plot worksheet is a great way to have your students celebrate Easter while practicing their Algebra skills.

Provided is a data sheet of egg hunt–related figures that students are asked to plot onto a coordinate grid. Then, students will draw a graph based on the data points and explore its slope, resulting in their creation of a slope-intercept form equation. This resource is a fun way to introduce students to or have them practice such concepts!

Easter Reading Comprehension Quiz

The best way for students to improve their ELA and reading skills , especially in preparation for standardized tests, is with practice. As a reading comprehension exercise for this egg-themed holiday, the Piqosity team has selected a passage that looks at the mathematics behind eggs, invest-egg-ating the different applications of math and types of bird eggs!

Excerpt from “Can a Mathematical Formula Describe Types of Bird Eggs?” by Amanda Maxwell

Reading Comprehension Questions

1. Which of the following is not said to influence egg shape?

A. The site of the nest. B. The ease for baby birds to hatch. C. The size of the bird species. D. The bird’s ability to fly.

2. The passage states, “Bird eggs are generally the same kind of construction in that they are rounded and not angular…” (lines 6-8). Based on the passage, which of the following is the most likely reason as to why eggs are rounded and not angular?

A. Angular eggs would have to be larger, making the outer shell thinner. B. Rounded eggs are more comfortable for bird mothers to lay upon in a nest.  C. Angular eggs would have a greater risk of cracking, due to sharper edges. D. Rounded eggs are smaller, so more are able to fit inside a nest.

3. “Pyriform” (line 54) most nearly means

A. pyramid-shaped. B. fire-red. C. five-layered. D. pear-shaped.

Passage Answer Key and Explanations

B. The ease for baby birds to hatch is the correct answer because it is not indicated in the text. The passage describes certain factors that influence the size and shape of bird eggs: “Wild bird eggs vary based on the size and shape of the bird species that lays them and are also influenced by factors such as nest site. National Geographic notes that a bird’s ability to fly can also influence the shape of its eggs,” (lines 11–16). This textual evidence indicates that answers A, C, and D are all valid influencers of egg shape; ease of hatching is not mentioned in the text.

C. Angular eggs would have a greater risk of cracking, due to sharper edges is the correct answer choice. The passage provides several details indicating that egg shape is very connected with egg fragility and prevents the egg from cracking. The author writes, “Egg shape is also a result of nest site stability, and better stability helps eggs survive,” (lines 50–51). They then describe that guillemot eggs lay very pointy eggs—since all eggs are rounded and not angular (lines 11–14), we can picture this as a cone shape with a rounded tip and base, hypothesized to“…[help] the egg stay on the narrow ledges of the sheer cliffs where guillemots nested”, preventing the egg from falling off the cliffs (lines 55–58). We can clearly see that a major factor of an egg’s shape is what shape will help keep the egg safe. No evidence from the passage points to the idea that angular eggs would be larger—as a result, A and D can be eliminated. B somewhat makes sense, but there is no evidence in the passage that supports it. Thus, C is the correct answer choice. Angular objects have edges—if the objects are fragile, like bird eggs, the edges could easily crack.

D. Pear-shaped is the correct answer choice. This question can be evaluated by looking at both the parts of the word and the context of the word. The structure of “pyriform” hints that it has to do with shape/structure—“-form” is a Latin root meaning shape, such as in formation. This lets us rule out “B. Fire-red”, as it deals with color, and “C. Five-layered”. The context for “pyriform” is: “Egg shape is also a result of nest site stability, and better stability helps eggs survive. The species most often mentioned here is the guillemot, a seabird that lays extremely pointy pyriform eggs,” (lines 50–54). As you can see, “pyriform” is paired with “pointy”. This may lead you to believe that the correct answer is A; however, remember that this is an egg. As described in the second paragraph, all bird eggs are rounded and not angular, so there is no way for them to be “pyramid-shaped”. We now know that these “pyriform” eggs are pointy yet rounded in shape. The remaining answer choice reveals the form: “pear-shaped”.

3. This year, Jonathan decides to plant 2 daffodils in his backyard. Over the next year, the population of daffodils grows exponentially at a rate of 75%. Which of the following is equal to the approximate number of daffodils in Jonathan’s backyard after one year?

A. 18 B. 4 C. 16 D. 6

Original Math Questions Answer Key and Explanations

1. C. {(9, 9), (7, −6), (−2, −4), (−8, −7), (−2, 6)}

To find the coordinates of a point plotted in a coordinate plane, we need to first find the distance from the origin we travel horizontally and then vertically to reach that point. The correct solution set is: C. {(9, 9), (7, −6), (−2, −4), (−8, −7), (−2, 6)}.

2. A. Sunday, April 9th 2023

If Monday, March 7th, 2023 was a full moon, the next full moon fell on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023. (29.5 days later) This means that the next Easter Sunday was the first Sunday after Wednesday, April 5th. This means that Easter Sunday in 2023 fell on (A.) Sunday, April 9th, 2023 .

The population of daffodils is growing at an exponential rate. To calculate the number of daffodils present after 1 year, we will need to use the exponential growth formula: Where A is the target or final value, P is the principal or initial value, e is Euler’s number (approximately equal to 2.718), r is the growth rate and t is the number of years over which we are evaluating. In this case, our growth rate is 75%. Convert this value to a decimal before plugging it into the formula. 75% = 0.75 This means that there will be approximately 4 daffodils in Jonathan’s backyard after one year.

6. Twist eggs to get words

A delicious variation of this activity is using BookWidget’s randomness tool and little chocolate eggs. Students have to take turns spinning the wheel. The word they get should be written on the packaging of little chocolate eggs you had previously hidden around the classroom. Students have to search for the egg with the corresponding word and gather it inside a basket. Some words will appear several times, in which case, turn the wheel again. In the end, each student should have one chocolate egg, which can then be eaten.

Middle School Easter Activities 🐰

As mentioned, the activities below can easily be adapted to higher (and some lower) grade levels so students of all ages can use there easter-themed exercises.

13. Easter Bingo Storytelling

If you think writing an Easter story can be time-consuming, you are right—unless you use artificial intelligence. In one minute, ChatGPT generated this short Easter story with Easter-related words I’ve prompted, also indicating what grade this was for. You can add more prompts to make the story more eventful or fun. This is also a great ESL Easter activity that can be used to review Easter vocabulary.

14. Reading comprehension

Learning about Easter traditions’ origins can become a good reading exercise. This split worksheet has text about some of the most common Easter traditions and exercises for reading comprehension on one side. You can use this exercise to inform students about other Easter-related things, such as the History of Easter and how Easter is celebrated in different countries, or bring a fictional Easter story or tale.

15. Virtual Egg Hunt

Cadbury, a British chocolate company, has partnered with Google Earth again to create a virtual Easter egg hunt. Participants can hide and search for virtual eggs on a worldwide Easter egg hunt website. You choose a hiding spot, write a clue, and send it to your students. They have to decipher the clue to find the virtual egg. You can only hide one egg at a time and send the corresponding clue to one person, but you can repeat the process as many times as you like, and it’s free.

With Google Earth, you can reach very specific locations. Why not choose the surroundings of your school and place real little chocolate eggs around it to make this egg hunt hybrid? Once your students get where they should look for the eggs, have them run free and search for them. They will sure love this Easter egg hunt!

16. Egg Box Investigation

This online Easter maths activity encourages your students’ spatial skills and logical thinking. Students must virtually put several eggs inside an egg box and photograph the different arrangements. There are five difficulty levels varying the number of eggs and the slots in the box.

18. Jelly Beans Math

Distribute bags of jelly beans to each student and guide them through engaging math activities:

A-Estimation Exercise : Prompt students to estimate the total number of jelly beans in their bag and the quantity of each color. After counting the beans, discuss how accurate their estimations were.

B-Sorting Challenge : Instruct students to categorize the jelly beans by color and determine the quantity of each color present.

C-Graphing Adventure : Encourage students to create a graph illustrating the distribution of jelly bean colors in their bags. Remind them to include a descriptive title, label the axes, and establish a suitable scale.

D-Pattern Exploration : Demonstrate how to form various patterns (e.g., ABA, ABC, ABBA) using the jelly beans. Encourage students to challenge their peers to continue the patterns.

19. Easter WebQuest

This fun Easter Web Quest/ Easter Escape Room has a tragic story as a background: The Easter Bunny got hurt and cannot deliver the Easter eggs. Therefore, it needs a substitute, and it’s the students’ task to find one, working through some fun digital Easter activities to do that.

Again, you can copy this webquest to your account and edit it, combining more Easter activities as you see fit. Most of the activities on this webquest can also be given to elementary students.

Bonus Easter Activity 🐇

20. easter board game.

Lastly, we’ve created an incredible digital Easter board game for students of any level. Here, you will find a digital game board. This game aims to help the Easter Bunny find the Eater eggs. You will find battle cards on the right side of the board beside the digital die and the “choose your pawn” button. Students must draw a battle card when they land on specific houses on the board. Each card will bring a fun activity or challenge before students move on with the game. Divide your class into groups of four or five students, give each group a tablet, and let the fun begin! Have some chocolate eggs ready as a prize for those who win.

Easter is a great excuse to bring new ideas and fun to your classroom. Combine maths, history, geography, STEAM, or language lessons with fun activities and games, and your students will look forward to returning to class after Easter Break.

From Easter bunnies to crosses, Easter crafting is such a fun way to celebrate this significant holiday with the kids!

With that said, engaging in fun Easter activities can be another fun way to spend your Easter week.

Check out some of my favorite choices for simple Easter fun!

Religious Easter Egg Activities

Spend Holy Week celebrating the true meaning behind the holiday and rejoice in the fact that Jesus lives with these great Easter Activities for kids!

I remember doing resurrection eggs as a young child and it was always the highlight of Easter Sunday for me.

Seriously though, these are so much fun! 

Celebrate Easter with these incredible resurrection eggs (above) via Approaching Home . Not only are they beautifully done, but they include a 3-page FREEbie complete with bible verses, graphics, a cheat sheet, and a list of objects to get for your eggs!

If you want to lean a little more on the traditional or simple side, these  resurrection eggs via Saving Talents are a great go-to! They too include a free printable that includes paper strips with bible verses, bible references, and simple supplies for each egg. This one is a great option for older kiddos.

Egg Dyeing Easter Activities

If your idea of an Easter egg activity includes some form of dye, this is the one for you.

I’ve got so many fun Easter dyeing options for you guys!!

Check them out below.

Learn how to dye your own Easter eggs without using a kit with these fun DIY Easter egg ideas (top left) via Rouse in the House.  Find out how to create your own lava eggs, sticker eggs, glitter eggs marbled eggs, rubber band eggs, and more! So many creative ideas in this one, you guys!

Looking for something crazy easy, but different? Try these Skittles-dyed eggs (top right) via Attachment Mummy instead .

If unique is more your style, consider trying these speckled oil and water eggs (bottom left) via Happiest Camper or these  Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) (bottom right) via Celebration Generation.

Both of these options provide an unusual and incredibly beautiful twist to traditional egg dyeing.

Looking for a creative & environmentally-friendly alternative to dyeing Easter eggs?

These amazing naturally dyed Easter eggs (above) via Moon and Spoon and Yum are not only a natural option but they are made with powerful superfoods — making this a great option for dye-free, health-conscious families (like ours).

Shaving Cream Eggs

Ever heard of dyeing Easter eggs using shaving cream? This is a new one fo me and it sounds like such a fun activity!

I’ve got 5 fun different options for you when it comes to this popular way of dyeing Easter eggs.

• Try these classic shaving cream eggs (top left) via One Simple Party using neon food coloring and a vinegar pre-soak.
• Another option that includes neon food coloring are these fun dye tie-dye shaving cream eggs (top right) via One Crazy mom.
• Try using gel food coloring instead with this variation of shaving cream eggs (bottom right) via Making Joy and Pretty Things.
• Skip real eggs and try this paper & paint version of shaving cream eggs (bottom left) via Kids Activity Zon e instead!
• Strapped on space or supplies? Try these shaving cream eggs (not pictured) using a muffin tin via Lil Tigers.

If Dyeing eggs isn’t your Easter style, try some of these fun egg ideas instead!

These are super cute but they definitely require extra prep work on Mom’s part.

While some might consider these Easter craft ideas , I chose to keep them with the traditional egg dyeing projects simply because one uses real eggs and the other makes the perfect companion to traditional Easter egg hunts.

Sensory & STEAM Easter Activities

Encourage educational fun with these incredible STEAM projects, simple games, and sensory Easter activities for kids!

These beautiful crystal egg geodes (above) via Artsy Fartsy Mama look like so much fun,  you guys!

With this awesome STEAM activity, your kiddos will get to grow their own crystal geodes in an eggshell — super cool!

I enjoy a solid mixture of structure and free range. I set goals for myself and my children each week, but I put no pressure on perfection.

We use a wide variety of curriculum in our home.

Some of our current favorites are The Good and the Beautiful, Life of Fred, Beautiful Feet Books, and Lifepac.

While my kids do spend a good amount of time learning at desks, they also spend countless hours exploring their creativity and practicing a little independence.

I love mountains, rainy days, and sitting by the campfire. 

Our family recently relocated to the PNW and we have been enjoying finding new nature spots to explore together 🙌🏼

I can’t wait to connect and share all the things I’ve learned on our new journey!

As educators, we recognize the importance of fostering a love for reading in our students, and what better way to do so than by incorporating Easter and spring-themed literary activities into our curriculum? If you’re a teacher looking to add some creativity into your upper elementary classroom, this list of 24 Easter Reading Activities is tailored just for you.

From scavenger hunts to book clubs, creative art projects, and planning an Easter egg hunt, these activities are sure to captivate the imaginations of your students. Let’s dive into the world of books, bunnies, and blossoming stories with these exciting Easter reading ideas!

3. Easter Story Writing: Encourage students to write their own Easter stories or poems and share them with the class.

21. Easter Reading Challenges: Set reading challenges for the Easter break, encouraging students to read a certain number of books or pages and share their achievements when they return.

22. Easter Informational Writing: Have students write the steps to coloring Easter eggs. Then, have them create an informational writing passage. Choose one and follow the directions as a class to color some hard-boiled eggs. Use lined paper for the activity, or get these pre-made worksheets included in the Easter Reading and Math Packet.

19 Easter Activities and Crafts for the Whole Family

Hey peeps! As we enter into Holy Week you may be looking for some fun Easter activities to enjoy with your family. While almost everyone's Easter traditions involve the obvious egg hunt, we have some eggcellent Easter fun that the whole family can enjoy! Check out this mix of indoor and outdoor games and activities for kids of all ages to include in your Easter celebration!

Fun Indoor Easter Activities

1. jelly bean guessing games.

Here's an easy indoor game for all ages! Simply fill a jar with jelly beans and ask each family member to guess how many candies there are. The winner (the closest without going over) takes all! Another jelly bean-themed game involves asking players to guess the correct flavor of fancy jelly beans they taste.

2. Easter Egg Charades

Another way to get the whole family involved is to engage in a game of charades. Put the prompts in Easter eggs and have each person act out the word or phrase. Just remember to keep it simple for the preschool-age participants. Bunny, duckling, carrots, chick, prayer, and Easter egg hunt are just a few of the words and phrases that you can act out!

3. Easter Bingo

Who doesn't love a game of bingo? There are tons of free printable Easter bingo cards that you can find online and players can use some delicious jelly beans and other sweet Easter goodies to mark the squares that they get throughout the game. Finally, have an array of prizes that young children, older kids, and adults will all appreciate!

Fun Outdoor Easter Activities

4. egg and spoon race.

This good old-fashioned outdoor game is the perfect way to get the whole family involved! Egg and spoon races date back to the late 1800s. All you need are eggs (hard-boiled are the least messy) and metal or wooden spoons for each participant. Race individually or relay-style.

5. Easter Bunny Corn Hole

This classic outdoor game has been around since the 14th century! Why not make it eggs-tra special this year and make the corn hole boards shaped like a bunny? Grab some cardboard, markers, and scissors to create a DIY hungry bunny for your game of bean bag toss! Cutouts can be located where his mouth and tummy are to ensure that he gets his fill this holiday too.

6. Plant Flowers

Easter symbolizes rebirth, so what better day to plant some tulips and daffodils with your budding gardener? Fall is technically the season to plant bulbs in most regions, but you can plant them indoors any time of year, or buy flowers already in bloom and transplant them outdoors on Easter.

Delicious Easter Recipes and Food Activities

7. build peep houses.

Peeps are adorable marshmallow snacks that make their way into Easter baskets every year. Once opened, they need a place to go! Grab some graham crackers, frosting, jelly beans, and leftover Easter candy to build your chicks and bunnies a little home. Just like gingerbread houses, this seemingly simple activity is a great way to let the creative juices flow and enjoy some sweet treats throughout the process.

8. Make Chocolate Fondue

Encourage your kids to share their Easter loot with Mom and Dad! Melt down that giant chocolate bunny and dip those marshmallow chicks into a bubbling bowl of fondue. (Hint: This will also get your kids to consume some fruit on this sugary-sweet holiday.)

9. Create Pastel Deviled Eggs

This traditional Easter brunch menu item is always better with a burst of color! The recipe will remain the same, but once boiled and peeled, let the egg white halves soak in a mixture of water, food coloring, and white vinegar. (Don't worry, the vinegar flavor will not stick around!) Once you have reached the desired color, remove the now pastel-colored eggs and place them on paper towels to drain and dry. Then, add the filling like normal!

10. Make Brunch or Easter Dinner Together

Involve your kids in the kitchen by letting them make meal or dessert items for your Easter feast. Keep things really easy and buy biscuits or buns at your local bakery for your family to make into strawberry shortcakes (by adding sliced berries and whipped cream) or hot cross buns (by marking with a cross in frosting) — two traditional favorites on Easter.

Easter Crafts For Preschoolers

Akin to a snow globe, this is an easy Easter craft that your kids will love to display long after the holiday is over! Head to your nearest craft store and pick up plastic sealable jars, glue, waterproof Springtime trinkets, and some colorful glitter.

Then, with supervision, help your toddler to adhere their chosen figurines to the inside of the lid, making sure that you can fit them through the mouth of the jar. Once dry, have them fill the jar up with water and add in their glitter. Finally, apply glue over the thread of the jar (the grooves along the outer band of the mouth of the jar) and seal the lid on top. Allow time to dry and then they will be ready to let glitter rain all over their Spring scene!

12. Create Handprint & Footprint Art

Every parent loves a keepsake item and Easter is a fantastic time for your little bunny to make something for you to cherish forever! Print out a large image of a bunny or have their hand draw one themselves. Just make sure that the ears are big enough to fit their feet!

Then, with a roller and some skin-safe paint, have them stamp their feet within the ears. Another alternative is to leave the ears out of the drawing and have their hands printed in their place. 13. Decorate An Easter Egg Tree

Here's the perfect activity for kids experiencing Christmas tree withdrawal! Decorate a tree (indoors or outside, depending on the weather) with plastic Easter eggs and any other spring decor (such as pastel ribbons or tissue paper flowers) for your holiday guests to admire.

14. Read Easter and Spring Children's Books

Gather the kids and curl up with a good book, especially if Easter falls on a rainy day this year. Use our Book Finder tool to stock up on great children's books about Easter, bunnies, and spring.

Easter Activities For Older Kids

15. Easter Egg Hunt

While the little kids hunt for candy and toys on Easter morning, plan a similar Easter egg hunt for the older kids when the sun goes down! Glow in the dark eggs can be stuffed with small sums of money, beauty products, headphones, jerky, and other small prizes that they will enjoy. Assign each tween and teen a color of egg to search for so that you can tailor the goodies to appeal to each of your children.

16. Make A Springtime Wreath

Easter crafts don't have to just be for kids! Head to your local craft store and grab a basic wreath frame or styrofoam ring along with your preferred decor. This can range from faux floral pieces, eggs, pom poms, ribbon, or anything else your teens see fit. This DIY craft is quite easy to complete, but there are lots of online tutorials to walk you through the steps as well.

17. Create A Homemade Easter Basket

This unique centerpiece is an easy Easter craft that only requires yarn, glue, water, and an inflated balloon! Simply combine glue and water in a disposable bowl. Coat the yarn in the mixture and then wrap it around the balloon. Let it dry overnight.

Then, pop the balloon and remove the deflated pieces from the hardened yarn. Finally, press the top of your egg-shaped figurine inward to create your basket! This is a perfect place to keep Easter treats on the brunch table!

Other Easter Traditions

18. give a gift basket.

Teach kids to perform a random act of kindness this Easter and put together a gift basket for an elderly relative or neighbor. Get creative with the contents to make this a more fun and meaningful activity. For example, have the kids fill plastic Easter eggs with nice notes that say things like, "You're egg-cellent!" and "Sweetest neighbor ever."

19. Go To Church

Last, but certainly not least, observe the origins of the holiday by attending services at your family's church. Easter Sunday is by far the busiest for church attendance, so arrive early with activities to keep your kids engaged, such as Easter-themed coloring pages, stickers, and a fresh pack of crayons (psst — perhaps the Easter bunny might bring some?! ).

16. Printable Corner Bookmarks

Not a fan of origami bookmarks? No worries, we made another set of corner bookmarks that’s more of a paper craft than origami. And a cute one it is!

17. Craft Stick Carrots – Fun Easter Crafts for Kids

Craft sticks are one of the most popular crafting materials for kids (and a frugal one too!).

I don’t know about you, but I’m finding that time is going by really quickly this year! It’s already April, and Easter is this weekend – crazy! Before we know it, it’ll be Ch…  I can’t say it, not yet!!

I’ve rounded up some fab last minute  Easter ideas , and activities which include printables, crafts, and recipes so that you have a one-stop-shop for things to do during Easter week and through the Easter weekend. The kids are probably driving you a bit mad (as they always do when it’s the school holidays), so have these ideas up your sleeve to keep them occupied with some fun Easter activities!

Remember what it’s all about…

Easter is a Christian festival celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion. I was brought up as a Catholic, but I don’t practice any more… It doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten what this time of year symbolizes. I’ve made posters in the past for Good Friday  and for Easter Sunday  and it’s a good opportunity, if you are religious, to talk to your children about Easter and its meaning.

Five-year-old Alex Wajda of Romeoville says he’s all in when it comes to going on an Easter egg hunt and gathering all he can find.

“I’m going to go get some. I think I can get about 20 eggs,” Alex said Saturday during the annual Easter egg hunt at Faith Lutheran Church in Aurora, which included a helicopter drop of some of the eggs.

Alex’s mother, Michelle Wajda, was perhaps even more enthusiastic about the event.

“We have two boys here actually,” she said. “This is our eighth year. The kids just love it and the adults love it too. It’s a helicopter – how can you not? We usually get about two dozen eggs and we all have so much fun.”

The church at 3000 Liberty St. was a sea of kids and parents who had to register in advance for the event that the Rev. Rob Douglas said has been going on for 14 years.

“Every year there is a segment of our church that goes, ‘Are we doing that again? Yeah.’ There has always been a helicopter drop even though we’ve had to change vendors like about three times,” Douglas said before the event.

Douglas said on average, about 1,400 participants attend each year.

Church volunteers helped fill nearly 14,000 plastic eggs, he said, including about 50 golden eggs that contained special prizes.

The helicopter itself dropped 2,000 eggs at the event, the limit that the service provider would allow, organizers said.

Other attractions Saturday included a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny, snacks and other food items and more. Kids could also enjoy a bounce house.

“The thing about this is that it’s more than an Easter egg drop, it’s a church community event,” Douglas said. “People last year – the drop is at 11 and people are done with the egg hunt by 11:30 – but about 50% hung around for the next hour and a half because we had food and music going and bounce houses and the bunny line was huge. There were like 300 people getting their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.”

Diana Nawrocki of Aurora was working as a volunteer at the event and said this year’s crowd seemed very enthusiastic, adding that “the church likes reaching out to the community and offering a fun event and celebrating Easter.”

“We love coming out for this and love volunteering for it,” she said.

A total of three age groups were allowed to rush out for the eggs, including groups for kids up to 5 years old, 6 through 9  years old and 10 through 12 years old.

Chris Moy of Naperville was wearing some rabbit ears on his head and came with his 2-year-old daughter Callie, who was among the first to dash out to the egg-laden field just north of the church.

“We tried this last year but it was more carry her around,” Moy said of his daughter. “She’s definitely here to look. But I think she knows what she’s doing. She’s been practicing in the back yard. We did a little homework.”

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.
