Main duties:
- Operating laser cutters to produce work to the client's specification.
- Packaging projects for transit and handling with care.
- Discussing projects between the workshop team and clients to come up with the best solution, and suggest alternative approaches.
- Communicating with workshop managers and front of house team, advising on project progress and material stock.
- Organising workflow.
- Painting, sanding, and providing high finishes to projects.
Skill and Experience required:
- Previous creative work experience in a similar role and industry practice is crucial.
- Knowledge of different materials, their properties, and processes.
- Ability to multi-task and be time-efficient. Technicians are expected to run multiple jobs at once or perform housekeeping duties.
- Experience delivering projects within deadlines, and ability to work at a pace.
- Evidence of problem solving.
- Confidence to work on bespoke projects and handling high-value items. Technicians will be expected to speak directly with clients if there are any issues.
- Strong organisational skills to manage several simultaneous projects.
- Adobe Illustrator at intermediate level is essential, and candidates must be able to use the software at speed. If applicants are successful in proceeding to a trial day, we will ask to see evidence of the following skills- compound path tools/ deleting double lines/altering line stroke/ using alignment tools/ pathfinder tools/ image tracing tools/expand tools/ selecting similar objects/ anchor point selection/ creating outlines/keyboard shortcuts.
- Knowledge of other Adobe software or 3D CAD is desirable.
- Working at a pace is essential.
- 1 year of independent CNC machining is desirable but not required.
Hours: 8am-5pm Monday- Friday.
Salary: £28k per annum.
Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays. We close for 1 week over Christmas, these days are to be used as part of the holiday allowance.

Hey there! We’re a small party game company in the heart of Soho, and we’re looking for someone to help us create professional handmade samples of our party games.
These samples will be sent out to retailers like John Lewis, Target, Walmart and many more to help pitch our amazing games!
This is a vital step in selling the game to buyers before it’s on the market You’ll be working directly as part of our in-house design team.

Responsibilities:
- Board Game Making – Take a lead in making handmade samples of our new party games according to established designs and specifications
- Work with our in-house design team – You’ll be working directly with experienced product and graphic designers
- Prepare artwork for print/sampling – You’ll be converting Adobe Illustrator artwork into printable formats, cutting and assembling game components (tokens, game boards, cards, packaging, instructions)
- Quality – Ensuring samples meet a quality standards and craftsmanship throughout the process
Requirements:
- Location – You must be able to come into our office, based in Soho
- Flexible hours – We’ll be messaging you when we need to make samples so the workload will vary month-on-month. Office hours are Mon-Fri, between 9am-5pm. We can work around your existing commitments/studies
- Good eye for detail – You’ll be printing, cutting and assembling boxes, cards, whiteboards using vinyl and other materials.
- Adobe knowledge – You must be efficient in Adobe Illustrator

We're looking for a Fabricator for our busy workshop.
The candidate should have some knowledge and experience of fabrication and will know the basics of drilling, cutting, forming and shaping materials.
The candidate should be confident in using power tools, hand tools and precision equipment in order to work and fabricate our range of plastic/Perspex products.
Previous experience of these materials is preferred but not essential. The candidate will be required to read technical drawings in order to plan and carry out the specified fabrication.
- The role is dynamic, giving opportunities to work in different areas, primarily fabrication but also product assembly, use of industrial saws, line bending, laser cutters and polishing.
- Training will be provided in weak areas but a good understanding of hand tools is required and experience with Perspex and plastic fabrication is highly desirable.
Requirements
- Apprentice/City & Guilds/NVQ/ BTEC /Relevant Industry Experience.
- A good understanding of hand tools.
- Ability to work alone and as a team interacting with other departments, including receiving direction from management and senior team members.
- Experience of Perspex working and fabrication.

We have full production equipment to finish parts off to a high level for prototyping as well as on a production basis. CNC MACHINIST

Foster + Partners is an award winning, internationally renowned architectural practise. Our Model shop is based in the London head quarters and has an exciting opportunity for a CNC machinest to join the team.
This position is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting and operating one or more computer numerical control (CNC) machines, from high precision 3 axis to a 7 axis robotic arm. Using our drawings and computer models you will create and modify CNC programs using software including Autodesk Powermill and RhinoCAM. You will also set up tools, load materials and carry out the efficient machining of components in a timely manner.
We are looking for someone with the following skill set:
- Have an Industry recognised diploma or relevant industry experience
- Good understanding of CAD/CAM computer software
- Study CAD drawings, sample parts and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate parts, and determine part dimensions and tolerances
- Knowledge of estimating sizes, and quantities; or determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform machining
- Experience on documentation by transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form
- Think Creatively — Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or procedures, including artistic contributions

This position is responsible for offering the model shop team essential CAD support; the candidate will be responsible for creating and manipulating CAD drawings for model shop staff to assist in all stages of design, fabrication and construction of models. (Including all Rapid Prototyping).
- Experience to a very high level of one (or more) 3d CAD package(s) MicroStation, AutoCAD, Rhino and a good understanding of CAD CAM software
- Have an Industry recognised HND qualification or degree in the relevant field
- Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of workshop machinery including laser cutting 2 and axis 5 CNC programming and RP technologies
- Able to understand architectural drawings and quickly decipher relevant information required

Essential Interests, Experience & Skills:
- Demonstrated use of CNC equipment, including laser, 3D printer, router, etc. (This can be with assistance during education, or independently)

- Understanding of related processes in our workflow, such as fabrication, pattern & Mold making, painting, and fine finishing.
- Expertise in wood fabrication.

Other Requirements
- Standard working hours are 08.45am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with a 45 minute unpaid lunch break, and two 15 minute breaks. 15 minute breaks will be one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
- However you will be expected to work longer hours when required and occasional weekends.
£26k to £35k depending on experience.
