Boost Mobile offers a variety of different cell phone plans, ranging from basic no-frills plans with texting, calling, and limited data, to unlimited plans with up to 35 GB of data each month. Prices range from $15 per month for new customers who bring their own phone to $60 per month for an unlimited plan. When you sign up for a plan, you can use an existing phone, or you can purchase a new phone through Boost Mobile. All plans come with mobile hotspot capability, but your high-speed data will be limited when using the hotspot depending on your plan.

Customers can add up to five lines to a plan, and it’s often cheaper to add a secondary line to an existing family plan. For example, Boost Mobile’s $60 per month unlimited plan offers customers the option to add another line for $40 per month. Boost plans require no service contracts, so customers are free to cancel or change their plan if needed.

What Cell Phone Plans Are Available From Boost Mobile?

Boost Mobile offers five different cell phone plans. The most basic plan, which is only available to new customers who bring their own phones, includes unlimited texting and calling, hotspot capability, and 2 GB of data for $15 per month.

The next plan starts at $25 per month and is also only available to new customers. This plan includes 5 GB of data, as well as unlimited talk time, texting, and a mobile hotspot. A third plan starts at $35 per month and increases the data limit to 10 GB.

Boost Mobile also offers two plans that come with unlimited data. The first plan starts at $50 per month and comes with 35 GB of data, unlimited calling and texting, and 12 GB of mobile hotspot data. Customers can add another line to this plan for $30 per month. The other unlimited plan starts at $60 per month and features 30 GB of mobile hotspot data in addition to 35 GB of regular data and unlimited calling and texting. All Boost Mobile plans come with unlimited texting and calling, mobile hotspot capability, and no service contracts, so customers are free to change or cancel their plan at any time.

How Much Do Boost Mobile Unlimited Cell Phone Plans Cost?

Boost Mobile’s two unlimited cell phone plans range from $50 to $60 per month. Additional lines for these plans range from $30 to $40 per month depending on the plan. Overall, customers can add up to five lines to one plan. Since all plans come with mobile hotspot capability and unlimited calls and texts, the main difference between these plans is the amount of mobile hotspot data available.

In addition to these plans, Boost Mobile also offers a variety of add-ons and additional services. Customers can purchase a mobile hotspot data plan for $50 per month, which comes with 35 GB of data. If you run out of data during the month, you can also purchase a data pack to temporarily add more data to your plan. Data packs start at $5 per month for 1 GB of data and $10 per month for 2 GB of data.

Other upgrades include secure Wi-Fi ($2 per month), a Privacy Premium Bundle (about $6 per month), international calling and texting ($5-$10 per month), location and parental control settings ($7 per month), and Boost Call Screener ($3 per month). While these services are optional, customers may add them to their plan for an additional cost.

How To Upgrade Your Cell Phone Plan

If you’re interested in upgrading your cell phone plan with Boost Mobile, you can do so at any time. To upgrade your plan, navigate to your account settings and choose the plan that best suits your needs.

Customers who have an existing phone with Boost Mobile also have the option to upgrade their phone. You can order a new phone from Boost mobile using the “Phones” tab on its website. The phone will be shipped to your address. Once the phone arrives, you’ll have to activate it and connect it to your Boost Mobile plan before you can begin using it.

How Much Do Boost Mobile Prepaid Cell Phone Plans Cost?

Boost offers three prepaid cell phones plans. Like the unlimited plans, these plans all come with unlimited calls and texts and mobile hotspot capability. Starting at $15 per month, Boost’s most basic plan is only available to customers who bring their own phones. This plan comes with 2 GB of data. While not enough for anyone who does serious web browsing on their phone, this basic plan is a good fit for customers who only need to use their data in emergencies.

The next tier of Boost’s prepaid plan offerings costs $25 per month and comes with 5 GB of data. This plan is also only available to new customers, but customers can choose whether they want to bring an existing phone or buy a new one through Boost Mobile. The final prepaid plan costs $35 per month and comes with 10 GB of data.

These plans are all pretty similar except when it comes to the amount of data they offer. As with the unlimited plans, if you find yourself needing more regular or hotspot data in a given month, you can purchase a temporary or recurring data pack for your plan.

Boost Mobile Set Up Fees

Boost Mobile doesn’t charge any setup fees. Customers need to purchase a phone from Boost Mobile or bring an existing phone to the plan. Once you have your phone, the next step is to activate your phone and connect it to a Boost Mobile account. Once you’ve set up your account and connected your phone, you’ll be able to start using your phone right away.

Boost Mobile Optional Features

Boost Mobile comes with a variety of optional features. While these features aren’t required, customers can add them to their plan for an additional fee.

• HD BuyUp: Add HD streaming to your plan for $10 per month.
• Secure WiFi: Protect your phone when connecting to Wi-Fi for $2 per month.
• Boost Shield: Protect your phone from loss, theft, or damage for $7 per month.

Where Is Boost Mobile 5G Available?

Boost Mobile offers 5G service for some phones. To use 5G through Boost Mobile, you must have a 5G compatible phone, live in an area with 5G service, and VoLTE enabled on your phone. 5G isn’t available in all areas of the country, so you should check Boost Mobile’s coverage map to see if it’s available near you. 5G service is free to use for eligible customers.

To get Boost Mobile cell phone service, you’ll first need a phone. You can either bring your own phone to the plan or purchase a new phone through Boost Mobile. Once you have your phone in hand, the next step is to activate the phone.

You can do this by following the steps of the activation process on Boost Mobile’s website. You can also sign up for a plan from Boost Mobile at one of their retail stores. Boost Mobile has over 500 locations across the country. If you choose to sign up for a Boost Mobile plan in person, a retail associate can help you get started.

Does Boost Mobile Offer a Trial Period?

Boost Mobile doesn’t offer a trial period for its services. This is because Boost Mobile offers cell phone plans with no annual contract, so customers can change or cancel their plan at any time. Because you’re not locked into a contract, you can cancel your plan with Boost Mobile if you’re not satisfied with their service.

Does Boost Mobile Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

Boost Mobile doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee. However, they do accept returns for recently purchased phones. Customers may receive a refund if they return a phone within seven days of purchase. However, they may still be subject to any fees incurred for cell phone service, as well as a restocking fee of up to $25.

How Do I Cancel My Boost Mobile Cell Phone Service?

Because Boost Mobile is a prepaid cell phone service with no annual contract, customers can cancel their plans at any time, and there are no additional fees or charges if you do need to cancel. However, one downside of this provider is that you can only cancel your cell service over the phone. If you no longer want a plan with Boost Mobile, you can call 1-833-502-6678 to cancel your service.

As a Boost Mobile customer, you may need to upgrade or downgrade your plan because of your budget. Boost Mobile network allows you to change your current plan at any time.

To change your current Boost Mobile plan, log into your account. You can do this via the Boost Mobile app or their website. Go to your account options and select a new plan.

How To Check Boost Mobile Plan?

Before changing to a new plan, you may want to confirm your current plan. Follow the steps below to check your current Boost Mobile plan:

. Launch the MyBoost App.

. Tap on  Profile Icon.

. Tap on  Account Settings.

. Further tap on  Current Plans   and Add-ons.

. The next page will bring your current plan.

. Tap on  Details  to expand the details of your current plan.

How To Change Boost Mobile Plan

Now you know your current plan and the details of the plan, it’s time to either upgrade or downgrade the plan. Follow the steps below to change your current plan:

. Under  Links For The Web  options, tap on  Change Plans or Add-ons.

. Enter your Boost Mobile security PIN   to launch your dashboard.  

. Scroll through the list of plans and select a new plan.

The Boost Mobile PIN is the default PIN the network generated for your account after you activated your number. 

How Much Does It Cost To Change Boost Mobile Plan?

Boost Mobile does not charge an extra cost to upgrade or downgrade your plan. The process is free. The only money you pay is the added fee for the new monthly plan if you upgraded your plan.

What Happens After You Change Your Boost Mobile Plan?

After you select a new plan, it reflects on your account immediately. The change will reflect on your new bill.

For instance, any data you used from your allotted data in your old plan will be deducted from the data allotted in the new plan. You will get the full data allotment for the new plan from the next billing cycle.

Also, if you downgrade, the new rate will reflect on your next billing cycle.

Likewise, if you upgrade your plan in the middle of your current billing cycle, your bill will only reflect the difference between the old and new plans.

When Is The Best Time To Change Your Boost Mobile Plan?

You can upgrade or downgrade your Boost Mobile plan at any time. The best time to change your plan is days toward the end of the current billing cycle. This enables you to get the full data allotment for the new plan.

Social Security projected to cut benefits in 2035 barring a fix

The timeline to replenish Social Security is being extended. The federal retirement program said Monday it may not need to cut benefits until 2035, one year later than previously forecast, because of stronger performance by the U.S. 

The new projection, from the Social Security Board of Trustees' annual report,  amounts to "good news" for the program's 70 million beneficiaries, said Martin O'Malley, Commissioner of Social Security, in a statement. Even so, he urged Congress to take steps to shore up the program to ensure it can pay full benefits "into the foreseeable future."

Social Security relies on its trust funds to provide monthly checks to beneficiaries, with the funds primarily financed through the payroll taxes that workers and businesses provide with each paycheck. But the funds' reserves are drawing down because spending is outpacing income, partly due to the wave of baby boomer retirements and an aging U.S. population. 

Experts underscore that if the trust funds are depleted, benefits won't suddenly disappear. Instead, Social Security beneficiaries will face a cut to their monthly checks, with the agency on Monday projecting that recipients would lose 17% of their current benefits.

That would be painful for millions of retired and disabled Americans, but it represents a modest improvement from last year, when the Social Security Administration projected that benefits could be slashed by 23% if the trust funds reached the point of depletion.

Advocates for older Americans praised the improved outlook, while pressing Congress to take action on shoring up the program. 

"Congress owes it to the American people to reach a bipartisan solution, ensuring people's hard-earned Social Security benefits will be there in full for the decades ahead," AARP CEO Jo Ann Jenkins said in a statement. "The stakes are simply too high to do nothing."

Lawmakers have yet to take action despite being aware of the looming funding crisis, noted Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a think tank that focuses on the federal fiscal policies, in a statement.

"Every year we get closer to the deadline, we seem to get further away from the solutions," she said. Without a fix, "Social Security's retirement trust fund will be insolvent when today's 58-year-olds reach the normal retirement age and today's youngest retirees turn 71."

Economic boost

O'Malley attributed the improved Social Security forecast to the stronger economy, pointing to what he called "impressive wage growth, historic job creation, and a steady, low unemployment rate." In other words, a healthy job market is resulting in more Social Security taxes going into the funds' coffers.

The report comes as Social Security's financial outlook has become a political lightning rod, with Republicans proposing that the retirement age be raised — effectively cutting benefits for millions of current workers — and former President Donald Trump indicating he would be open to cuts to Social Security and Medicare. 

Democrats argue that there are other ways to fix the program without cutting benefits, such as raising the cap on payroll taxes. Currently, individual income over $168,600 is exempt from the Social Security payroll tax. 

Medicare's "go broke" date

Meanwhile, Medicare's go-broke date for its hospital insurance trust fund was pushed back five years to 2036 in the latest report, thanks in part to higher payroll tax income and lower-than-projected expenses. Medicare is the federal government's health insurance program that covers people age 65 and older and those with severe disabilities or illnesses. It covered more than 66 million people last year, with most being 65 and older.

Once the fund's reserves become depleted, Medicare would be able to cover only 89% of costs for patients' hospital visits, hospice care and nursing home stays or home health care that follow hospital visits.

In a statement on Monday, President Joe Biden credited his administration's economic policies for Social Security and Medicare's stronger outlook. 

"Since I took office, my economic plan and strong recovery from the pandemic have helped extend Medicare solvency by a decade, with today's report showing a full five years of additional solvency," he said. "I am committed to extending Social Security solvency by asking the highest-income Americans to pay their fair share without cutting benefits or privatizing Social Security."

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A South Korean court ruled in favor of the government’s contentious push to drastically boost medical school admissions on Thursday, posing a setback to concerted efforts by incumbent doctors to spike the plan.

A standoff between the government and doctors opposed to the plan has shaken the country’s medical system for months. With broad support from senior doctors, more than 12,000 junior doctors, who are medical interns and residents, remain off the job since February.

The Seoul High Court rejected a request from striking doctors and other opponents to block the plan, which would raise the yearly medical school enrollment quota by 2,000 from the current cap of 3,058.

Lee Byung-chul, a lawyer for the doctors, said he will prepare to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court. Lim Hyun-taek , the hard-line leader of an association of doctors, said his organization will issue a statement on Friday after reviewing the verdict.

Officials have said they want to add up to 10,000 doctors by 2035 to cope with the country’s fast-aging population and a shortage of physicians in rural areas and in low-paying yet essential specialties like pediatrics and emergency departments.

Doctors say schools aren’t ready to handle an abrupt increase in students and that it would ultimately undermine the country’s medical services. But critics argue that physicians, one of the best-paid jobs in South Korea, are mainly worried that having more doctors would lower their incomes.

The request to suspend the enrollment plan was filed by 18 people including doctors, medical students and others hoping to enter medical schools.

The Seoul High Court ruled the doctors and possible future medical students aren’t qualified to file administrative lawsuits, calling them a third party in the case. The court acknowledged that current medical students can suffer possible damage from the enrollment plan, but still rejected their request to protect “public welfare.” It said a suspension of the recruitment plan could cause “immense” harm to efforts to increase doctors in rural areas and other essential roles.

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo welcomed the decision, saying the government appreciates “the wise ruling by the judicial branch.” He said the government will take steps to finalize medical school admission plans for the 2025 academic year by the end of this month.

Han urged the striking junior doctors to return to work immediately, saying it’s difficult to maintain the country’s emergency medical system without them. But South Korean media cited some striking doctors as saying they have no intention of reporting back to work.

The striking doctors are a fraction of all doctors in South Korea, estimated to number between 115,000 and 140,000. But in some major hospitals, they account for about 30% to 40% of the doctors, assisting fully qualified doctors and department chiefs during surgeries and other treatments while training. Their walkouts have caused cancellations of numerous surgeries and other care at their hospitals and burdened South Korea’s medical services.

In support of their action, many senior doctors at their schools have also submitted resignations, though they haven’t stopped treating patients.

Government officials earlier threatened to suspend the licenses of the striking doctors but later halted those administrative steps to facilitate a dialogue with the strikers.
