T-Mobile Business's Unlimited plan for 1 line costs $60 per month.

It rides on the T-Mobile network for coverage.

The plan includes unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, and unlimited high-speed data per month. You get 5GB of hotspot data. The data is also deprioritized , which means you may temporarily notice slower speeds when the network is busy. You'll resume getting the fastest speeds available when the network is no longer busy.

Video streams at 480p SD quality on this plan.

Overall, I do not recommend the T-Mobile Business Unlimited Select plan. It is too expensive for the features and data you get.

T-Mobile for Business puts the spotlight on small businesses across the country

Earlier today, T-Mobile for Business revealed three new small business plans under the name Business Unlimited. In addition to these new plans, T-Mobile for Business has announced its new fixed wireless internet, Facebook Advertising on Us with digital advertising, and digital marketing resources exclusively for small businesses. This is T-Mobile’s way of helping the small business owners cope as they go through the economical effects of the pandemic. 

Here is more information on these new developments:

T-Mobile Business Unlimited Plans

These are the three small business plans that T-Mobile for Business has unveiled today. As of this writing, these are the only small business plans available in the country. 

• Business Unlimited Select $25/line/month – This plan comes with unlimited talk, text, and 50GB of “Premium Data”, 5GB high-speed mobile hotspot; unlimited texting and 2G data overseas; and unlimited talk, text and 2G data in Canada and Mexico. The plan, however, reduces the speed during times of network congestion. 
• Business Unlimited Advanced $30/line/month – This plan comes with unlimited talk, text, and 100GB of “Premium Data”, 40GB high-speed mobile hotspot, 1 hour of Gogo In-Flight Wi-Fi; unlimited texting and 2G data overseas; unlimited talk, text and 5G high-speed data in Canada and Mexico; HD video streaming; and Microsoft 365 on Us.
• Business Unlimited Ultimate $40/line/month – This plan comes with unlimited talk, text, and “Premium Data”, 100GB high-speed mobile hotspot, 1 hour of Gogo In-Flight Wi-Fi; 4K video streaming; Microsoft 365 on Us; and 2x faster data internationally (256Kbps). 

T-Mobile Small Business Internet

The need to stay online is greatly experienced by small businesses. Thankfully, T-Mobile for Business has introduced a way to address this need with its new fixed wireless internet service that costs $60/month with AutoPay and no annual contracts. It also doesn’t include any caps or overage penalties. 

Once you sign up for this service, T-Mobile will ship a state-of-the-art Nokia 5G router to your business location, included in your monthly price with no added equipment fees. You can then perform the installation in minutes, without the need to pay for hookup fees. The service also comes with access to a team of dedicated experts who you can call whenever you need them.

For a limited time period, T-Mobile for Business is running a promotion on this service. When you sign up for the service between June 1st and June 30th, you can enjoy $10 off on the monthly rate. Facebook Advertising on Us

T-Mobile Business is a potential option for RVers, cruisers, and nomads because of they are the easiest carrier to get a business account and offer several easily obtainable plans for sole proprietors and small business customers.

Plan Information

T-Mobile offers various plans for business customers that are generally very similar to consumer postpaid plans but with some different features & benefits.

To sign up for a business plan, you must have a "qualifying" business account and approved credit. Plan eligibility, the number of lines on an account, and other factors can vary depending on your credit rating.

Typically, a business account will get tax-inclusive pricing for accounts with five or fewer lines.  More than five lines may get the account (and associated plans) switched to tax-exclusive.

Pay half price for the same coverage

Here’s a cost-saving tip—you can get the same reliable cellular coverage as you would from T-Mobile when you sign up for a much cheaper wireless plan through an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator). MVNO carriers operate over the same cellular towers, but let you save big with a simpler plan.

T-Mobile unlimited plans

If you want tons of high-speed data and live in the city, then T-Mobile is the best carrier right now. Yep, we said it—the best. Here’s why.

Super-high data caps

Here’s a weird thing about unlimited data plans—most of them don’t actually give you unlimited high speed data. There’s usually a data cap. If you go over your data cap, your data speeds can be significantly reduced (making it hard to stream or game).

Companies like AT&T and Verizon tend to set their caps at 75GB per month for mid-tier unlimited plans. But T-Mobile’s mid-tier Magenta MAX plan has a data cap of 100 GB of premium data per month.

That’s a ton of data, but it’s the Go5G Next plan that really impresses us.

T-Mobile’s Go5G Next plan has no data cap . That means you get truly unlimited 4G and 5G data on this plan. No throttling and no deprioritization , just that sweet, sweet high-speed data. So go ahead and stream that new episode of True Detective  or Echo on Max  in HD.

Fastest 4G data speeds

We’ve collected speed data from over 100,000 mobile users on a variety of networks. We discovered that, on average, T-Mobile has the fastest data speeds in the country. That’s a big deal when it comes to streaming, gaming, or working on your phone.

These data speeds, combined with high data caps (so that your speeds aren’t slowed), makes T-Mobile a powerful contender for those who want high performance over all else.

Best 5G network

Evaluating which carriers have the best 5G networks is tricky because the technology is so new and because there are different kinds of 5G. Some companies use “high-band” technology that gives you very fast speeds but has limited range. Others use “low-band,” which goes further but isn’t much faster than 4G.

By most metrics, T-Mobile is ahead in the 5G race. T-Mobile has the fastest average 5G download speed at 135.17 Mbps and the highest average customer time spent connected to 5G. 1 

These impressive 5G statistics are just further evidence of T-Mobile’s dominance when it comes to data speeds. There is a variety of other T-Mobile MVNOs that use the same superfast network and offer pretty affordable plans like Mint Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, and Consumer Cellular that are worth checking out.

Decent perks

Getting a few extra perks isn’t the main reason to choose a cell phone plan. But it is a nice cherry on top. Here’s what you’ll get from T-Mobile’s Magenta MAX and Go5G Next plans.

T-Mobile's perks are practically never-ending, as they change weekly and vary depending on where you live. And because not every service is available nationwide, some users are trading codes on Reddit with fellow T-Mobilers. That means if you live in Florida and get an In-N-Out code, you can swap it for someone's Culver's code in Idaho. 

T-Mobile vs. the competition

As you can tell, we’re pretty impressed with T-Mobile overall. But there are a few blemishes on the company’s otherwise clean record. Namely, coverage and cost. We’ll talk about coverage more below, but you can see the problem with cost right here.

While T-Mobile’s cheapest unlimited plan costs similar to AT&T’s and Verizon’s equivalents, it’s still much pricier than plans from smaller discount MVNO providers, like Mint Mobile and Visible . And, to be honest, the Essentials plan isn’t even that great.

T-Mobile’s better plans (Magenta MAX and Go5G Next) will set you back a clean $85 or more every month. While these are still cheaper than the equivalent plans from Verizon, they will be too expensive for some users.

Discounts for 55+, first responders, and military

T-Mobile offers a few discounts that can save you $10 to $15 on your monthly bill. First, there’s the Essentials 55+ plan for just $40.

The best discount the company offers is for first responders and military . You can get the Magenta MAX plan for just $70 a month. That’s a pretty darn good deal for one of the more powerful cell phone plans on the market.

T-Mobile family plans

You have six options for your T-Mobile family plan, and they range from 50GB of data to unlimited data with HD-quality streaming. From Essentials and up, you’re looking at unlimited plans—it just depends on what kind of unlimited you want.

Do you have a family that requires tons of hotspot data and HD streaming? Do your college kids need laptop access on the go? Or do you enjoy watching The Walking Dead on your morning train commute? Then you might want to check out the Magenta MAX Family plan or Go5G Next plan.

On the other hand, if you primarily use the internet for email, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, then you’ll want just a basic unlimited plan, like the Essentials plan. And for our true minimalists living off the grid, you can get a plan without any data at all.

How do these T-Mobile family plans compare with other family plans ? Let’s take a look.

Among the major three providers—AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon—the Essentials plan from T-Mobile is $6 more than AT&T's plan and $5 more than Verizon's Unlimited Welcome Plan. But if you're a fan of hotspot data, Verizon's Unlimited Welcome plan doesn't offer any.

With T-Mobile's Essentials family plan, you can get four lines for just $10, or about $25 per line. That’s a good chunk of change that stays in your bank account each month.

You’ll see similar savings when you look at four-line Magenta and Magenta MAX plans. In short, if you can get on a family plan with T-Mobile, then you should.

T-Mobile prepaid plans

If you compare T-Mobile prepaid plans with the unlimited plans, you’ll notice the prepaid options are a bit cheaper. The main catch is that you’ll have to pay in advance instead of getting your bill at the end of the month, and you won't be eligible for T-Mobile Tuesdays.

The prepaid system can get a little annoying if you forget to pay for another month of service, but as long as you stay on top of things, you’ll save more than a few bucks every month.

The T-Mobile prepaid plans aren't perk-less, though. You still have a 50 GB data cap and mobile hotspot on the go.

T-Mobile network coverage and performance

As we mentioned before, T-Mobile boasts the fastest download and upload speeds in the industry as of 2022. Here's a graph to prove it.

You can expect everything to be faster on T-Mobile’s wireless network versus Verizon or AT&T. You can download apps faster, buffer streams more quickly, and upload your video to Instagram quickly as well. The biggest downside to the network is its coverage.

T-Mobile coverage

Out of the three major networks, T-Mobile currently has the weakest 4G coverage overall. For context, here’s the rankings for best wireless coverage. 2

• Verizon: 70% 4G coverage
• AT&T: 68% 4G coverage
• T-Mobile: 62% 4G coverage

Before you consider switching to T-Mobile, make sure to check your neck of the woods in the coverage map below.

The good news is that T-Mobile’s 5G coverage is actually the best. While this doesn’t make up for poor 4G coverage (since 5G is still only in major metropolitan areas), it’s a good sign that T-Mobile is ahead of the curve on the next generation of mobile tech.

• T-Mobile: 41% 5G coverage
• AT&T: 18%
• Verizon: 11%

Major wireless carriers like T-Mobile have been working to retire old network technologies like 3G to improve 4G and rollout more 5G. 

T-Mobile announced that by June 30, 2022, Sprint's LTE network will be officially retired. Nothing needs to be done by customers unless you have an older Sprint SIM card, which will need to be replaced with a SIM from T-Mobile. 5

T-Mobile cell phones and devices

Whatever phone you want to use, you can plan on using it on T-Mobile’s network. You can use the latest iPhone devices or Android devices. Here are the most popular cell phones on T-Mobile’s network right now.

Be ready to share your credit score if you sign up for a lease on a new phone. Even average credit means you’ll most likely need to fork over a down payment with your monthly payments. This is fairly common with other major phone service providers, though we didn’t get asked about our credit when we signed up for Verizon.

If you prefer to skip the credit check, you can—just be aware you’ll need to pay the full retail price of your new phone right then and there.

T-Mobile customer service

Talk to a T-Mobile customer, and you’ll probably hear a mix of stories about customer service, both good and bad.

We’ve had great experiences with in-store customer service in the past. Long story short, we ordered a phone from T-Mobile’s website, and it was stolen before it even arrived on our doorstep.

Thankfully, the in-store representative walked us through what to do and how to get a replacement phone, and they remained understanding and helpful even though we showed up at the store right at closing time.

However, when we later noticed the stolen phone was activated and we started receiving a bill for it, we had to contact the call center several times to cancel the service and zero out the bill. Moral of the story? Visit your local T-Mobile store for a better experience.

It depends on what you want. It’s true that, of the three major networks, T-Mobile has the worst 4G coverage in rural areas. But that won’t matter to many people who live in metropolitan areas and want T-Mobile’s lower prices and awesome data speeds.

Also, T-Mobile’s 5G infrastructure is currently bigger and better than the competition. While this doesn’t fix its rural coverage issue, it does mean city-dwellers will experience awesome performance.

Best T-Mobile Plans: How to Choose and Which Ones to Pick in May 2024

T-Mobile has at least seven plans listed on its website. We try to make sense of them all.

When it comes to wireless plans, T-Mobile has plenty to choose from. Like all of the major US carriers, T-Mobile offers a wide variety of different options all under the promise of "unlimited" talk, text and data. Unlike its rivals, however, the carrier doesn't have just three main plans to pick from. Looking at its website for a couple of lines and you'll quickly find seven different plans:

• Essentials Saver
• Magenta Max

All offer unlimited talk, text and data but all also have different prices, features and perks (and this list isn't even including promotional plans). Which ones should you consider? Let's break it down.

• T-Mobile's 5G network
• Plan includes 50GB of regular high-speed data in the US as well as the ability to use phones as a hotspot
• Hotspot is limited to "3G speeds"
• Canada and Mexico data are at even slower "2G" speeds
• Everyone needs to be on the same plan

Essentials Saver for 1 or 2 lines, Essentials for 3 or more

Best t-mobile plan for most people: essentials saver or essentials.

The Essentials and Essentials Saver plans are virtually identical in all but name and both options include unlimited talk, text and data with 5G access. Because of some T-Mobile promotions, however, this pick is a bit complicated. 

In short, if you need two lines, Essentials Saver is your best pick, while those looking for three or more lines may want to go with regular Essentials. 

With either choice you get 50GB of high-speed data, though both options lack perks like international roaming (beyond 2G-like speeds in Canada and Mexico), the inclusion of taxes and fees in the sticker price or streaming perks like bundled in Netflix, Apple TV Plus or Hulu subscriptions. Those on this plan also won't necessarily get T-Mobile's best offers for upgrading devices. 

All the deals also require that you set up AutoPay and paperless billing. And unlike its rivals, T-Mobile doesn't offer any options to "mix and match" plans so everyone would have to be on the same main option here.

A single line of Essentials Saver is $50 per month while two lines will run $80 a month. A similar offering from Verizon (Unlimited Welcome), by comparison, costs $110 per month while plans from AT&T (Value Plus VL) run $51 for one line or $102 a month. 

Three lines will also run $90 at T-Mobile for its regular Essentials thanks to a promotion, compared with $120 at Verizon (for Unlimited Welcome) and $114 at AT&T (for Value Plus VL). The four-line option is now back to $100 at T-Mobile thanks to that promotion, compared with $120 at Verizon and $124 at AT&T.

You may need to click "see more plans" and then "explore Essentials Saver plan" on T-Mobile's site to get this option to appear, though lately it has been listed alongside its regular plans. 

• T-Mobile has a strong 5G network
• Taxes and fees are included in the sticker price
• Solid perks include Netflix and international data
• Magenta plans can be harder to find on T-Mobile's website
• The best new device upgrade deals are limited to pricier options like Go5G Plus

The upgrade pick for those who want perks like Netflix and faster international data

T-mobile magenta, magenta max (1 or 2 lines), go5g and go5g plus (3 or more).

For most people, T-Mobile's Magenta and Magenta Max options are the better pick when it comes to looking for perks for one or two lines. They're cheaper than the Go5G options and have most of the same features, except with a lower monthly rate ($70 for one line on Magenta, $120 for two lines; $85 for one line on Magenta Max, $140 for two lines). 

You get less hotspot and international data with a Magenta plan compared with a Go5G option, and Magenta Max users also don't get the same ability to upgrade to a new device after two years while taking advantage of T-Mobile's best device deals. 

Similar to what it has done with the Essentials plans, thanks to T-Mobile offering a free third line on its Go5G options those plans become cheaper and a better value compared to the Magentas if you need three or more lines.

Among the benefits of Magenta and Go5G ($75 a month for one line, $155 a month for four lines) are unlimited international data (albeit at slow "2G speeds") when traveling in over 210 countries, an hour of in-flight Wi-Fi  on several airlines , T-Mobile Tuesdays weekly giveaways, the bundling of Netflix's Standard with Ads plan (which is $7 a month) and six free months of Apple TV Plus. 

Its pricier Magenta Max and Go5G Plus ($90 a month for one line, $185 a month for four lines) plans keep the Netflix Standard with Ads plan, include a full subscription to Apple TV Plus, ups the hotspot data from 15GB on Go5G to 50GB per month on Go5G Plus, adds 5GB of high-speed international data and gives you unlimited Wi-Fi on a host of flights including those from American, Alaska Airlines, Delta and United. Go5G Plus also has 15GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico, compared to 10GB on Go5G and 5GB on Magenta and Magenta Max. 

Unlike its Essentials plans discussed earlier, T-Mobile also includes taxes and fees with the pricing of its Magenta and Go5G plans.

Like the Essentials offerings, however, you can't "mix and match" lines, so everyone in your family would need to be on the same plan. That said, if only one line needs perks like faster international data, you should consider Magenta (if you only have one or two lines) or Go5G (if you need three or more lines), with the  MaxUp  or  PlusUp  $15 per line add-on. This will let your other lines get a cheaper rate while allowing you to bolster your international data to tap into the Go5G Plus or Magenta Max offerings for the lines that need it without pushing everyone onto a pricier option.

It is worth noting that you will need to call or chat with T-Mobile to get the Magenta options, as the carrier has hidden the plans under a "see more available plans" tab and then a "learn more" link on its website.

How we test

Picking a wireless plan and carrier is an individualized process. What works for you and your family's needs may be vastly different from your friends or neighbors. Even geographically, some areas have better AT&T coverage while others work best on Verizon or T-Mobile (and vice versa). The picks we make are based on over a decade of covering and evaluating wireless carriers, their offerings and their performance. 

Since choosing a provider is unique, we focus on larger plans and the value they provide; as well as calling out ways you can test the different networks in your area for yourself so you can make the best pick.

Factors to consider: Know your area

As we covered in our other wireless guides, to get the best deal you need to make sure you have the coverage that you need. This makes it hard to give a blanket recommendation of any one carrier. T-Mobile's service in New York may be excellent, but if you're in rural Iowa, Verizon is more reliable. 

While your mileage may vary, the good news is that these networks are growing and improving all the time, particularly as the three major players race to blanket the US with 5G. It's quite possible that you left a network complaining about its sparse service a decade ago, but now it's beefed itself up because of that race to acquire customers.

If you know any friends or family in your area that already use the carrier you're considering, ask about their experience. You could also go to a carrier's store and see if they offer any free ways to try out the service before switching over, such as  T-Mobile's Network Pass . Verizon  offers a similar 30-day "Test Drive" program,  while the Cricket prepaid service  has its own trial program  that lets you sample parent AT&T's network.

What about go5g next.

T-Mobile's latest top plan, called Go5G Next, is its priciest. A single line runs $100 per month, while if you have four lines on an account it would be $225 each month or $56.25 per line (in both cases assuming you have automatic payments and paper-free billing enabled). 

What you get for that price is the bundling of Hulu with ads and the ability to upgrade your phone every year while taking advantage of T-Mobile's latest device upgrade offers. Otherwise, it's largely the same as Go5G Plus, which lets you upgrade your device with the latest offers every two years. 

For most people, we'd recommend staying away from this plan. It's likely too pricey for what you're getting when T-Mobile has much better options available. 

Do I need to change my T-Mobile plan when I upgrade my phone?

You don't necessarily need to change plans when you upgrade your phone, but you may need to move plans if you want the carrier's best deals. 

T-Mobile has been reserving some of its best deals for those who are on its priciest plans. For example, its top iPhone 15 Pro deals generally require the priciest Go5G Plus or Go5G Next plans (and potentially for you to add a new line or switch from a different carrier). 

Are there discounts to lower my T-Mobile bill?

Yes, like its rivals T-Mobile offers a variety of discounts depending on your age, employer or profession. Teachers, military, first responders and more can take advantage of various programs that could save you significant money on your bill. It also offers special pricing for those age 55 or above (though with a max of two lines on an account).

It's worth noting that these discounts are often for the whole account. If you have three lines and one of those users is a first responder or a teacher, your entire family can benefit from the savings. 

Some of these discounts have caps on the amount of lines that can benefit, so make sure to check the details when signing up.

2. You can get by with GPT-3.5 and non-peak use of GPT-4

GPT-4 offers some clear benefits over GPT-3.5, including faster and more accurate responses, longer prompts, a better understanding of context and nuance, greater creativity, the ability to solve complex problems, and fewer biased responses and hallucinations.

You can access both GPT models through the free version, though you may not be able to use GPT-4 during peak load times. In that case, Copilot will drop down to GPT-3.5. For many people, however, the sporadic GPT-4 access should suffice.

3. Your image generation needs are modest

Using the built-in Designer tool with DALL-E 3, Copilot is able to generate images based on your text descriptions. The free flavor limits the number of images you can generate, granting you 15 boosts (15 images) per day. If you don't need more, then the free flavor of Copilot will work just fine.

4. You already subscribe to ChatGPT Plus

ChatGPT Plus duplicates some of the benefits of Copilot Pro and throws in extra features such as the GPT Store and the ability to create your own custom chatbots. If you already pay $20 per month to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus , there's not as much reason to also subscribe to Copilot Pro. Save yourself some money and stick with the free Copilot flavor.

You should use Copilot Pro if…

1. you use microsoft 365 and want generative ai assistance for the apps.

With its AI skills, Copilot Pro will help you write and edit text and summarize documents in Word, generate formulas and analyze data in Excel, create presentations in PowerPoint, compose text in OneNote, and draft replies and organize your inbox in Outlook. If you use Microsoft 365 on the desktop or on the web and those AI smarts will help you write, create, and work faster, then Copilot Pro can easily be worth the price.

2. You rely heavily on GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo

With the Pro edition of Copilot, you won't get saddled with GPT 3.5, even during peak times. Instead, you can switch between GPT-4 and the latest GPT-4 Turbo model. 

If you use GPT-4 heavily and frequently throughout the day and require fast and reliable access all the time, then Copilot Pro gets the nod over the free version.

3. You need to generate a lot of images

While the free Copilot limits the number of images you can generate to 15 per day, the Pro version allows as many as 100. Plus, the image creation tends to be much faster. If you need to create batches of artwork, logos, and other images as part of your job, then you won't run into as many roadblocks with the Pro version.

Both the free and paid versions of Copilot let you edit your images inline without leaving the Designer tool. Copilot Pro goes a step further by allowing you to resize and regenerate images between square and landscape formats.

4. You don't subscribe to other premium AI services

Depending on your job and workload, a paid AI service can help you be more productive. If you don't already subscribe to ChatGPT Plus, Google's Gemini Advanced , or a similar service, then Copilot Pro could be just what you need. And remember, you can always try it for a month and then decide if you want to continue or cancel.

5. You'd like to create your own custom Copilot GPTs

With Copilot Pro, you're able to create and configure your own Copilot GPT chatbots . You might try this if you want to design a niche and unique GPT devoted to a specific skill or resource. Using the Copilot GPT Builder, you can either chat with Copilot for AI-infused assistance or manually give your GPT a name, description, and instructions. When done, you can preview your GPT to make sure it works and then either restrict access just to yourself or make it available to anyone with whom you share the link.
