An introduction to Hotel Management

Discover what goes on behind the scenes of a hotel; and where you can find the best career opportunities in hotel management and hospitality management .

What is hotel management?

At its heart, hotel management is about taking responsibility and providing leadership, to ensure the hotel trades profitably while guests’ expectations are exceeded. There are two key tiers of management, and at the top is the General Manager (GM) .

The General Manager sits at the heart of a successful hotel business. It is an exciting and rewarding role, and one that is in high demand as the world’s leading hotel brands accelerate the roll out of new hotels and concepts.

An internationally recognized hospitality degree is an ideal first stepping stone to the General Manager’s office; but to reach this goal you must work your way up, gaining leadership expertise in operational departments, while also developing a sound knowledge of finance, planning and organizational development.

Some aspiring General Managers opt to study a specialized hospitality MBA as a way of accelerating their progression.

What are the hotel management jobs I can do?

A hospitality degree puts the entire hotel at your disposal in terms of potential career paths.

A hotel is a highly complex operational entity – you serve your guests in real time, so every department and team must be functioning smoothly at all times.

Below we list some of the most important pieces of the hotel jigsaw. At the head of each you will find a manager overseeing the operational teams.

The key departments in a hotel

Front office.

The welcoming face of the hotel, and its nerve center, this team handles check-in and check-out, as well as answering any questions the guest may have about their stay. Interpersonal skills are absolutely vital for a front office role, as very often this is the only face-to-face contact the hotel will have with its guests.

Housekeeping

The cleanliness, maintenance and presentation of the rooms and public areas are essential to creating a good impression on the guests, and leading to those all-important positive reviews online! Attention to detail is everything, which is why hospitality management students will be asked to “make up” dummy hotel rooms as part of their practical arts training – the idea being that you can only manage such services if you know how to do them yourself.

Food & beverage

Most hotels, particularly at the luxury end of the spectrum, offer a range of F&B services from cafeteria style self-service to fine dining. These various outlets require managers, and from there potential career paths can lead to an F&B Director’s position spanning a portfolio of hotels. Many individuals also use the experience they gain in hotel F&B operations as fuel for their entrepreneurial ambitions.

Revenue management

Still a relatively recent specialization , but one which is becoming a cornerstone of the organizational structure of a hotel. As Frank Gueuning, Senior Lecturer and Program Manager at Les Roches, puts it, “The revenue manager is pretty much the number two position in a hotel right now, behind only the General Manager (GM).”

As its name suggests, the role is all about maximizing revenue from the property; and it’s as much about having a vision for the commercial possibilities as it is about scanning spreadsheets.

“…the revenue manager is pretty much the number two position in a hotel right now…”

Human resources

Hotels need talented staff, and the role of human resources is to find, attract and retain them. Given the “people skills” involved, it’s perhaps not surprising that hospitality management graduates make good HR managers.

It’s a common question. The answer is that hotel management – as the name suggests – is a discipline focused on the functional operations of a hotel; for example rooms division, front office and others.

The hotel sector is one of the world’s most geographically diverse industries – try to find a town or city that doesn’t have at least one hotel. It also continues to grow strongly, with recent analysis by consultants Oliver Wyman showing an additional 10,000 hotel properties in the development pipeline between 2021 and 2023 – with these primarily focused on the luxury and upscale segment.

The hospitality industry has a much broader focus. It includes hotels, but also other parts of the travel industry, the experience economy… in fact any customer-facing sector where making a good impression counts.

Given the exceptional interpersonal skills they acquire through their studies, it is quite common to find hospitality management graduates bringing their expertise to marketing and sales roles, as well as human resources and talent management.

A Guide to Hotel Operations Management

woman in front of a hotel desk

For a hotel to run successfully, interlocking departments and procedures must operate simultaneously, like individual gears in a massive clock. Thousands of individual tasks must be executed correctly and in succession for things to run smoothly. Having a proactive hotel operations management strategy can help make that happen. Optimizing hotel operations can also lead to increased revenue, occupancy levels, and guest satisfaction, but failing to focus on operations could cause hotels to fall behind in increasingly competitive markets.

In this post, we take a deep dive into hotel operations management. We break down what hotel operations are and discuss how they impact each department, employee, and guest. We review real-world best practices, automated tools, and helpful resources hotels can use to improve day-to-day and long-term operations. If you’re looking for ways to speed up time-consuming and error-prone manual processes, increase productivity, improve the guest experience , or boost team morale, you’ve come to the right place.

The ins and outs of hotel operations management

What is hotel operations management.

Hotel operations management is precisely what it sounds like: the process of managing hotel operations. It is the process of skillfully deploying resources, equipment, finances, and staff to optimize daily efficiency and maximize hotel profitability . From anticipating expenses and choosing software systems to scheduling staff and collaborating with other managers, hotel operations management encompasses every operation that keeps the business up and running.

Direct and energetic operations management can improve a hotel’s efficacy and efficiency. Efficacy describes the ability to get things done, and efficiency is the process of getting things done in the most economical way. Successful hotels have worked out how to complete daily tasks quickly, efficiently, and in high volume.

Are there different categories of hotel operations?

Although hotel operations management describes the entire process of overseeing hotel efficacy and efficiency, each department has separate roles, goals, resources, and responsibilities. To grant your property the highest chances of success, work to optimize every category of hotel operations, including:

• Front Office • Food & Beverage • Maintenance • Housekeeping • Sales & Marketing • Meetings & Events • Revenue/Finances • Management • Guest Services • Hiring/Training

Smooth, seamless, and well-managed hotel operations are at the core of optimal property performance and a satisfying guest experience. Hotel managers can improve how the entire property operates by ensuring each department has strong leadership and performs at peak efficiency.

Why is managing hotel operations so important?

Hotel operations management is about understanding what guests want from a hotel and giving it to them, while simultaneously increasing hotel profits. Proper budgeting, resource allocation, technology utilization, and staffing are necessary to meet and exceed guest expectations. Managers can meet these goals by proactively managing the complex web of hotel operations without overworking team members or sacrificing service.

Who is in charge of hotel operations management?

At many hotels, the general manager also functions as the operations manager, as numerous responsibilities overlap. Focused-service hotels may split the duties between a GM and an AGM. In contrast, specialized managers are frequently hired to oversee more complex operations at large properties, luxury hotels , and full-service hotels. As each hotel department performs separate roles and specific procedures, interdepartmental hotel operations management is crucial, with a leader guiding each department to peak performance.

What does a hotel operations manager do?

The operations manager at a hotel is responsible for utilizing hotel tools and resources in the most efficient way possible. They oversee the performance of each department, from maintenance to the front office, ensuring that each department fulfills its role and enabling the entire hotel to run like a well-oiled machine.

In addition to managing big-picture operations, an operations manager has a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Creating and implementing hotel Standard Operating Procedures and best practices • Interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees • Training staff on new processes, procedures, and technology • Ensuring that all employee certifications, licenses, and safety training requirements (e.g., Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, first aid certification) are up to date • Providing excellent customer service to customers • Creating efficient service spaces where employees and guests interact • Managing quality assurance procedures and programs • Helping the hotel meet budget, revenue, and business goals • Quickly resolving guest complaints • Finding fast resolutions to problems that could affect guest satisfaction levels, such as maintenance projects or amenity outages

The operations manager is also responsible for tracking the hotel’s overall performance . They provide hotel performance reporting to on-property leaders, including fellow managers, directors, and department heads. Many host team meetings regularly to review budget and resource allocation, discuss the implementation of new procedures, review departmental expenses, and more. With a clear picture of how well the hotel has been operating, they may choose to refine or switch up the current hotel operations management strategy.

Which software systems do hotels use to manage operations?

Robust hotel management systems, like the property management system (PMS), revenue management system (RMS), and point of sales system (POS), can supercharge hotel operations, significantly reducing the time and employee power required to complete everyday tasks. Furthermore, hotels with integrated systems have access to a wide range of essential market metrics and property performance data at their fingertips.

Modern PMS systems give hotel staff broad check-in and checkout capabilities, housekeeping management tools, and robust data security. With a powerful PMS, the Front Office team can operate more efficiently, reduce data errors, and spend more time focused on serving guests than manually entering reservation data. Outside of selling guestrooms, the PMS manages most hotel tasks, with modern integrated systems allowing hotel employees to communicate quickly, share updates, mark tasks completed, and more.

Choose hotel booking software that provides the front desk team access to real-time hotel details and room status updates, enabling them to assign rooms as soon as they are ready. If the housekeeping team notices major repair needs, they can quickly place the room out of order and notify maintenance that an issue requires their attention. Maintenance can use the PMS to provide project updates, close open repair tickets, and schedule room repairs in advance, allowing the front office to make room assignments in the least disruptive manner.

Integrating a third-party RMS with the hotel PMS can optimize various revenue management operations, from rate loading and inventory control to add-on availability and yield management. Instead of manually reviewing future reservations to identify occupancy trends, demand shifts, or drops in booking pace, revenue managers can quickly survey all channels for accurate analysis of minute-to-minute market reporting. With this data, they can make fast, impactful decisions, including whether they should:

• Raise or lower rates • Release or restrict inventory • Close high-demand dates • Implement booking restrictions • Limit specific booking channels

Integrated hotels that use competitive insights tools have access to real-time demand reporting. They can run future forecasts, rate shop the competition, track shifts in demand, analyze competitor RFP responses , and more, significantly increasing the speed at which hotel managers can recognize and react to market changes.

A comprehensive hotel POS system manages all of the property’s sales, including restaurant sales, sundry shop exchanges, and spa package purchases. A modern POS system can enable hotels to speed up various day-to-day sales-related tasks, including:

• Reservation management • Inventory tracking • Preauthorization procedures • Payment processing • Billing & invoicing

Integrated POS systems receive information from the RMS and PMS to reflect pricing and billing changes as soon as they occur. The F&B team can automatically attach dining charges to the guest’s room, streamlining the billing process. After checkout, housekeeping can tally mini-bar charges and post them directly to the room’s bill, helping the property recoup expensive amenity costs. An automated sales system can reduce chargebacks and billing inaccuracies caused by manual entry mistakes.

Tips & tools for improving hotel operations management

Whether you’re stepping into operations for the first time or are looking for innovative ideas to invigorate your hotel’s operations management strategy, we’ve compiled a list of tips, tools, and best practices to help.

1. Stay organized. Use a master hotel operations checklist that outlines the daily to-dos the operations manager must complete.

2. Never stop training. Keep staff updated with policy changes and continue training employees on new and improving technology, guest service procedures, safety, and wellness. Cross-train employees to boost productivity and empower your staff.

3. Automate hotel reservation procedures. Set up automated email and text services to communicate important reservation information to guests. Automatically send booking details , confirmation information, deposit requirements, and check-in reminders based on the guest’s arrival date, freeing up the front desk for other activities.

4. Use the PMS to improve financial management. Access invoicing functions, revenue reporting, and petty cash tracking. Manage OTA commissions, accounts receivable, debts, deposits, and more, all in one place.

5. Embrace technology in every department. Hotel technology can optimize operations all over the hotel, not just at the front desk. Digital checklists, robotic vacuums, and air purifiers would help the housekeeping department. Digital menus, room service apps, and automated billing could make life easier for the restaurant team. Look for tech opportunities everywhere, as optimizing operations in one area could boost performance for the entire hotel.

6. Improve the management of hotel groups. Maximize the efficiency of group booking operations using automated and intuitive software. Not only will it save you time, but many of those manual and time-consuming processes can be simplified down to a few easy steps.

7. Eliminate back-and-forth with planners. Use room block software to create custom group booking websites , automate data collection, and more. Give group planners the ability to assign rooms, make rooming list updates, and change guestroom assignments as needed, freeing up your sales team to focus on uncovering new business opportunities.

8. Invest in your team. You get out of your employees what you put into them. Create a strong workplace culture by investing in employee training, benefits, and career growth opportunities.

9. Listen to feedback. Improve your operations management style by putting constructive input to good use. Encourage guests, employees, and other managers to share feedback freely and honestly in a respectful manner. Anonymous surveys are fantastic tools for engaging hotel employees and enticing honest answers from apprehensive team members.

Module 12: Managing Processes

Reading: scheduling tools.

Photo of the Izmailovo Hotel complex at night.

Izmailovo Hotel complex, Moscow, Russia

As you might expect, operations managers find that complex processes involve complex planning and scheduling. Consider the Izmailovo Hotel in Moscow shown in the photograph at the right. Built to house athletes during the 1980 Olympics, the complex has 7,500 guest rooms and is the largest hotel in the world. Think about cleaning all those rooms—in four thirty-story-high towers—or checking in the thousands of guests. No small operation! Although the Izmailovo doesn’t produce a tangible good, it relies on many of the same operations management principles used in manufacturing to stay in business. To increase operational efficiency in complex processes like those of running a giant hotel, operations managers use three common planning tools: Gantt charts, PERT, and the critical path method (CPM).

Gantt Charts

A Gantt chart—named after the designer Henry Gantt—is an easy-to-use graphical tool that helps operations managers schedule the activities and determine the status of projects. Devised by Gantt in the 1910s, this chart illustrates the start and finish dates of the elements of a project. Modern Gantt charts also show the dependency relationships between activities. Although now regarded as a common planning technique, Gantt charts were considered revolutionary when they were first introduced.

Three different, ornate, brightly colored birdhouses.

Let’s look at a Gantt chart for producing a birdhouse. Suppose the following activities are required to build and package each birdhouse:

  • Determine which birdhouse the customer has ordered
  • Trace pattern onto wood
  • Cut the pieces of wood from the birdhouse pattern
  • Assemble the pieces into a birdhouse
  • Paint birdhouse
  • Attach decorations to the birdhouse
  • Prepare a shipping carton
  • Pack birdhouse into shipping carton
  • Prepare customer invoice
  • Prepare packing slip and shipping label
  • Deliver carton to shipping department

Below is the corresponding Gantt chart:

hotel management project wikipedia

Figure 1. Gantt Chart

As you can see, the tasks on the list are displayed against time. On the left of the chart are all the tasks, and along the top is the time scale. A bar represents each work task; the position and length of the bar indicate the start date, duration, and end date of the task. At a glance, we can determine the following:

  • What the various activities are
  • When each activity begins and ends
  • How long each activity lasts
  • Where activities overlap with other ones, and by how much
  • The start and end date of the whole project

Gantt charts are useful when the production process is simple and the activities are not interdependent. For more complex schedules, operations managers use PERT, which stands for “program evaluation and review technique.” This is a method of analyzing the tasks involved in completing a given project, especially the time needed to complete each task and to identify the minimum time needed to complete the total project. PERT was developed primarily to simplify the planning and scheduling of large and complex projects. The key to this technique is that it organizes activities in the most efficient sequence. It can also help managers determine the critical path, which is discussed below.

Critical Path Method (CPM)

The critical path method (CPM) is a step-by-step technique for process planning that identifies critical and noncritical tasks in order to prevent time-frame problems and process bottlenecks. The CPM is ideally suited to operations consisting of numerous activities that interact in a complex manner. It’s often used in conjunction with PERT.

The essential technique for using CPM is to construct a model of the project that includes the following:

  • A list of all activities needed to complete the project
  • The time that each activity will take to complete,
  • The dependencies between the activities and,
  • Logical end points such as milestones or deliverable items.

Using these values, CPM calculates the longest path of planned activities (expressed in time) to logical end points or to the end of the project, and the earliest and latest that each activity can start and finish without making the project longer. This process determines which activities are “critical” (i.e., on the longest path) and which can be delayed without extending the overall project duration. Take a look at Figure 2, below. What was the critical path in our construction of a birdhouse?

hotel management project wikipedia

Figure 2. Critical Path

Our critical path was the path that took the longest amount of time! This was sequence of activities that included the customer invoice and packing and shipping label (from the start to G to H), which totaled 180 minutes. The problem is that even if we were able to assemble and decorate the birdhouse faster, the birdhouse would just and wait for the paperwork to be completed. In other words, we can gain efficiency only by improving our performance in one or more of the activities along the critical path.

Did you know…?

PERT was developed by the U.S. Navy. The Navy’s Special Projects Office devised this statistical technique for measuring and forecasting progress while they were designing the Polaris-Submarine weapon system and the Fleet Ballistic Missile capability.

CPM was first used for major skyscraper development in 1966 for the construction of the former World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City. [1]

Hotel Management System Project Report

The hotel management system project is software developed to maintain and manage the various hotel task and processes. Its main goals are to increase income, streamline operations, and eliminate human labor. To elaborate more details on the hotel management system project report, the documentation is also discussed.

Hotel Management System Project Report : Content

The table below reveals the full content of the Hotel Management System Project Report . It reveals the overall description of the project’s needs in its development.

Hotel Management System Project Abstract

The hotel management system project abstract states the solution and the problems faced by hotel management. It should contain the project definition and goals.

Abstract: The hotel management system aims to maintain and manage the various hotel tasks and processes. It is primarily responsible for hotel management in the database’s core section. This also gives information on the various hotels and their current availability status.

In fact, guests can come to the website and register with the system by providing the required information. Each registered guest can request unit reservations. Then the guests were given information about the availability of the units according to their request.

The application also enables the admin to operate the entire system from a single online interface. This gives the admin more power and flexibility. In addition to this, the system covers room booking, staff management, and other hotel management services.

Furthermore, the users can use the system to advertise available rooms. The customers may see and reserve rooms from the comfort of their own homes too. Then the admin has the authority to approve or reject a customer’s booking request. As a result, the system is used by both consumers and admin to control hotel activities on the go.

Hotel Management System Project Proposal

The Hotel Management System Project proposal gives solutions to the major problems faced by various hotel management. It includes a brief introduction of the project, problem statement, solution, and scope.

This proposal for the hotel management system (project) has a collection of reasons why it should be developed and implemented.

Problem Statement :

Traditional hotel management does not include all functions, such as the location of the consumer, the amount of payment for the reservation, and what they are doing right now. Additionally, most hotels were experiencing a lot of issues affecting their reliability, performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Significant issues:

  • Customers’ reservations are inefficient.
  • Unable to promote the services that they desire.
  • Hotel information is inaccessible.
  • Data insertion and retrieval are tough.
  • Report generation is challenging.
  • Information delays in the collection and processing of client data.

To address the aforementioned issues, creating a computerized hotel management system is proposed. This proposal will help in effectively and efficiently hotel management. The proposed hotel management system project will maintain and manage the various hotel tasks and processes.

Moreover, the system is primarily responsible for hotel management in the database’s core section. It also gives information on the various hotel services as well as their current status. Guests can come to the website and register with the system by providing the required information.

Project Scope:

The hotel management system software automates major hotel processes like COD generation, billing, and keeping track of daily transaction data. Its database can also be controlled and modified by the admin.

Hotel Management System Project Modules

  • Customer Management: this module manages the activities that happen in customer management. The customer management module helps the hotel admin with securing all the customer transactions and accommodation.
  • Services Management : in order to compete with the other companies, this module must be present in the system. This will save and monitor the services rendered by the crews to the customers. Of course, the services were all based on what the hotel offers
  • Rooms and Accommodation Management: checks and updates all rooms and accommodation status to provide quality services for customers. It also lightens the job of the hotel admin because it records all the customer’s transactions.
  • Reservation Management : this module is applied to customers who were fond of reservations before availing of services. It secures the accommodation details requested. Obviously, this module lets the customer avail and choose the accommodation that they want.
  • Customer Transaction Monitoring: This task requires a lot of effort to do, even so, it should still be present in the system. It secures all the customer’s transactions as well as its status.
  • Employee Management: refers to the endeavor of assisting employees in doing their best work each day. This is applied in order to meet the organization’s wider goals. It also encompasses a wide range of jobs and responsibilities, nevertheless, almost all of them will be categorized and handled properly.
  • Expenses and Revenue Management: this is the fluid of their business and it secures all the revenue records. It also monitors the calculation of the system’s expenses.

These modules must be present in creating the Hotel Management System Project to satisfy the needs in managing Hotel transactions. Through this, the management and monitoring of customers would be much easier for the Hotel admin and employees.

Diagrams for Hotel Management System Project

The UML diagram for hotel management system aids as a blueprint for the project documentation. These diagrams are explained according to their roles in the project development.

Hotel Management System ER Diagram

Hotel Management System ER Diagram – describes the logical structure of the system’s database or data storage. It is done by identifying the hotel management process entities, their properties, and the interactions between them.

The ER Diagram is referred to as the  hotel management system project database design . This ER diagram is the graphical depiction of relationships between all the entities involved in the system. Its major components are Entities, Attributes, and Relationships.

hotel management project wikipedia

The  database design for Hotel Management System  is the same as its ER diagram. Both of them were used to emphasize and determine the  hotel Management system database  (data storage). This is also used as the system’s structure in terms of data storing.

Hotel Management System Use Case Diagram

Hotel Management System Use Case Diagram – is depicted as a graphical representation of the  hotel management system’s behavioral structure . It is composed of processes (use cases) and users or “actors”.

The  use case diagram  specifies how the hotel management system responds to a request. Each use case is broken down into a series of fundamental steps. It starts with the user’s goal and ends with the achievement of that goal.

hotel management project wikipedia

The  hotel management system use case diagram in UML  is the visual representation of the user and system interaction. It also assists in defining and organizing project requirements.

Clearly, the use case diagram provides a clear picture of hotel management software’s relationships with use cases and actors.

Hotel Management System DFD

Hotel Management System DFD Levels 0 1 2 – represents the flow of  data  and the  transformations  in the Hotel Management System. It demonstrates how information flows across hotel management. It also contains the numerous sub-processes the data flows through, data inputs and outputs, and data stores.

Additionally, the data flow diagram uses standardized symbols and terminology to define diverse entities and their relationships. Information technology specialists and systems analysts use DFD to describe and visualize flows of data within the hotel management system.

Hotel Management System Level 0

DFD Level 0 (context diagram) provides a general summary of the entire system. It is modeled to display as a single, high-level process. This also shows an overview of the project’s relationships with external entities.

hotel management project wikipedia

The hotel management system DFD level 1 is considered as an “exploded perspective” of the context diagram. It encompasses that each of the primary sub-processes that make up the entire system is expounded in DFD level 1. This means that the DFD level is the continuation of level 0.

Hotel Management System

Hotel Management System

This project aims at creating on Hotel Management System which can be used by Admin and Customers. The admin to advise/publish the availability of rooms in different hotels and customers are checking the availability of room in required hotel. Customers should be able to know the availability of the rooms on a particular date to reserve in hotel. They should be able to reserve the available rooms according to their need in advance to make their stay comfortable. The Admin hands the booking information of customers. The users can register and log into the system. The administrator will know the details of reservation and daily income. The hotel department maintain the seat availability and booking details in certain database. This project provides high security to Admin and user information.

The main objective of this project is to design a hotel management system for running a hotel business. The system should be as flexible as possible so that it can be used for different hotels. You have to find out which procedures hotels have used for different hotels. You have to find out which procedures hotels have and based on that information, you should create a system which makes it efficient. You need to find out how a hotel system works on the internet, use your own experience or directly talk to people in the hotel business. The more diverse the sources of your information are, the better will be the resulting system and, possibly, your grade.

INTRODUCTION

The project, Hotel Management System is a web-based application that allows the hotel manager to handle all hotel activities online. Interactive GUI and the ability to manage various hotel bookings and rooms make this system very flexible and convenient. The hotel manager is a very busy person and does not have the time to sit and manage the entire activities manually on paper. This application gives him the power and flexibility to manage the entire system from a single online system. Hotel management project provides room booking, staff management and other necessary hotel management features. The system allows the manager to post available rooms in the system. Customers can view and book room online. Admin has the power of either approving or disapproving the customer’s booking request. Other hotel services can also be viewed by the customers and can book them too. The system is hence useful for both customers and managers to portable manage the hotel activities.

The mission is to facilitate easy management and administration of a hotel with capabilities to do Booking or reservations of the rooms, Cancellation of the rooms, Cash billing, Room service, Restaurant service, Restaurant Billing, Total Billing, Travels arrangement etc. using the automated hotel management software. One can Keep detailed records or info on an unlimited amount of customers. The system lets the user Know which all rooms are available for occupancy at any point of time. This makes the Booking considerably faster. And thus helps the hotel in better management and reduce a lot of paper work as well as manpower.

EXISTING SYSTEM

In the existing system, only provides the information about particular hotel and only some of the hotels has possibility to reserve the rooms. The previous system was failure to publish the room’s availability of multiple hotels. And, it is failure to provide defence to admin and user information

PROPOSED SYSTEM

The hotel management system provides the quality service to the end user. This project aims at creating on Hotel Management System which can be used by Admin and Customers. The admin to advise/publish the availability of rooms in different hotels and customers are checking the availability of room in required hotel. Customers should be able to know the availability of the rooms on a particular date to reserve in hotel. They should be able to reserve the available rooms according to their need in advance. To make their stay comfortable. The Admin hands the booking information of customers. The users can register and log into the system. The administrator will know the details of reservation and daily income.

FEASIBILITY STUDY

A feasibility study is a high-level capsule version of the entire System analysis and Design Process. The study begins by classifying the problem definition. Feasibility is to determine if it’s worth doing. Once an acceptance problem definition has been generated, the analyst develops a logical model of the system. A search for alternatives is analyzed carefully. There are 3 parts in feasibility study.

1) Operational Feasibility

2) Technical Feasibility

3) Economical Feasibility

IMPLEMENTATION DETAILS

In this Section we will do Analysis of Technologies to use for implementing the project.

 HTML

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the standard markup language for documents designed to be displayed in a web browser. It can be assisted by technologies such as Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and scripting languages such as JavaScript. Web browsers receive HTML documents from a web server or from local storage and render the documents into multimedia web pages. HTML describes the structure of a web page semantically and originally included cues for the appearance of the document.

Css

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language like HTML.CSS is a cornerstone technology of the World Wide Web, alongside HTML and JavaScript.CSS is designed to enable the separation of presentation and content, including layout, colors, and fonts. This separation can improve content accessibility, provide more flexibility and control in the specification of presentation characteristics, enable multiple web pages to share formatting by specifying the relevant CSS in a separate .css file, and reduce complexity and repetition in the structural content.

JavaScript

JavaScript s a high-level, interpreted scripting language that conforms to the ECMAScript specification. JavaScript has curly-bracket syntax, dynamic typing, prototype-based object-orientation, and first-class functions.Alongside HTML and CSS, JavaScript is one of the core technologies of the World Wide Web.JavaScript enables interactive web pages and is an essential part of web applications. The vast majority of websites use it,and major web browsers have a dedicated JavaScript engine to execute it.As a multi-paradigm language, JavaScript supports event-driven, functional, and imperative (including object-oriented and prototype-based) programming styles. It has APIs for working with text, arrays, dates, regular expressions, and the DOM, but the language itself does not include any I/O, such as networking, storage, or graphics facilities. It relies upon the host environment in which it is embedded to provide these features.

PHP

PHP is a server side scripting language that is used to develop Static websites or Dynamic websites or Web applications. PHP stands for Hypertext Pre-processor, that earlier stood for Personal Home Pages. PHP scripts can only be interpreted on a server that has PHP installed. The client computers accessing the PHP scripts require a web browser only. A PHP file contains PHP tags and ends with the extension ".php".

The term PHP is an acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor. PHP is a server-side scripting language designed specifically for web development. PHP can be easily embedded in HTML files and HTML codes can also be written in a PHP file. The thing that differentiates PHP with client-side language like HTML is, PHP codes are executed on the server whereas HTML codes are directly rendered on the browser.

MySQL

MySQL is an open source relational database management system (RDBMS) based on Structured Query Language (SQL). It is one part of the very popular LAMP platform consisting of Linux, Apache, My SQL, and PHP. Currently My SQL is owned by Oracle. My SQL database is available on most important OS platforms. It runs on BSD Unix, Linux, Windows, or Mac OS. Wikipedia and YouTube use My SQL. These sites manage millions of queries each day. My SQL comes in two versions: My SQL server system and My SQL embedded system.

Betting on Las Vegas: The Venetian announces a massive $1.5B reinvestment project

T he Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip will undergo a $1.5 billion reinvestment project that is being called the largest and most expensive hotel renovation in history. The top-to-bottom project will include everything from a rebranding of the lion logo to a redesign of guest suites. All 4,000 suites in the Venetian tower will be upgraded with new "energy, spirit, and warmth," according to the resort. The new suites were noted to be inspired by the traditional ornate costumes of the Venetian Carnival, with a contemporary, fresh design. Beyond the accommodations, the redevelopment will include the addition of new chef-led culinary concepts, to be announced later this year.

The Venetian said the new suites will be available for stays beginning in September of this year. The new suites are inspired by the traditional ornate costumes of the Venetian Carnival, infusing energy, spirit, and warmth into a contemporary, fresh design. Beyond the accommodations, the redevelopment delivers first-class offerings to Las Vegas, including the addition of exciting new chef-led culinary concepts, to be announced later this year. In addition, the redevelopment will present new gaming offerings, including The Palazzo High Limit Lounge, the fully redesigned sportsbook complete with a multi-year naming rights partnership with Yahoo, the Yahoo Sportsbook powered by William Hill, and a brand-new poker room that will be debuting this summer. As part of the redevelopment, The Venetian Resort made a commitment to invest $188 million in the renovation of the resort's convention center.

"The Venetian Resort’s innovative spirit has had a massive impact on Las Vegas over the last 25 years and paved the way for our visionary $1.5 billion reinvestment today," said Patrick Nichols, president and chief executive officer of the Venetian Resort Las Vegas.

"This redevelopment marks more than just a surface-level renovation, it signifies a deep understanding of our guests and a profound reimagining of an iconic resort unlike any other in history," he added.

The Venetian Las Vegas is owned by VICI Properties ( NYSE: VICI ) and operated by Apollo Global Management ( NYSE: APO ). The hotel and casino resort, which was developed by businessman Sheldon Adelson and Las Vegas Sands ( LVS ), opened on May 4, 1999. Over the last year, the property has benefited from its proximity to the Sphere Las Vegas, owned by Sphere Entertainment Co. ( SPHR ).

Earlier in the month, VICI Properties ( VICI ) said it would provide capital to Venetian Resort Las Vegas for reinvestment projects through VICI’s Partner Property Growth Fund strategy. VICI ( VICI ) has agreed to provide up to $700 million of financing through the Venetian Capital Investment, comprised of $400 million to be drawn in 2024 and an incremental $300 million that The Venetian Resort will have the option, but not the obligation, to draw in whole or in part until November 1, 2026.
