What Is a Party Plan?

Party plan is essentially typically a home party, where the sales representative of the company use the party business model to offer their products for sale. Under this model, anyone can host a party for the company by taking an appointment with the sales rep.

The host of the party then invites her guests where the sales rep will demonstrate and sell the products. Most party plan companies follow the multi-level marketing business model, where the sales reps receive commissions from their personal sales and also commissions from sales of downline members in their team.

The party plan business model has been successfully used by women to sell products to women such as jewelry, cosmetics, kitchen utensils, wine, lingerie, etc.

How Does Party Plan Work?

In the party plan method of marketing, the sales representatives of the company, who are mainly women, approach other women to get them to host a party or social event in their homes. The sales rep will demonstrate the products of the company during this social event and also offer the products for sale to the guests. In return, the hostess will be given gifts and some of the amount made from the products sold. All the guests will also receive a token item as an incentive for attending.

At the party, the sales rep will display and demonstrate the products of the company and will take orders from the guests. Usually, the sales representative receives a commission on the sales. If the sales rep has recruited other people into the company, then she will also receive a commission on the sales of her recruits.

History of Party Plan

The party plan was a concept invented by Norman Squires for Stanley Home Products in Westfield way back in the 1930s. However, the concept was popularized by Brownie Wise, who used this method to market the products of Tupperware and Tupperware is considered to be a pioneer of the party plan model of marketing.

In the 50s, Tupperware saw the need for women to have a place where they could meet and interact with their friends and this is when the company saw merit in the party plan biz model and decided to integrate it along with their marking plan. Tupperware parties allowed women to socialize with their friends and also earn an income in a comfortable and relaxed social environment.

Secondly, I would like for you to list the other companies that ranked from (#3-5). It was mentioned that Amway was #1, and Avon was #2, and Mary Kay was #6 in 2017.

Founded in 1995, Gano Excel sells coffee that contains Ganoderma Lucidum, a mushroom-based herbal remedy widely used in Asian culture. It is purported to be an antioxidant and contains phytonutrients to boost concentration, focus, mental clarity, and overall well-being. You can order an Evolution Sample Pack for $10 to try the product and sign up for the business opportunity. According to their website, you sell wholesale products for retail prices, and you can earn even more money for building a team.

4. Java Momma

Launched in 2017, Java Momma sells organic fairtrade coffee, flavored coffee, loose leaf tea, cocoa, and accessories in a variety of yummy flavors like Sea Salt Caramel Mocha and Pumpkin Muffin. Baristas earn 20 percent commission on sales and additional commissions on team sales. Baristas must make one sale or purchase via their replicated website every three months to remain active. Java Momma offers three starter kits to choose from, ranging in price from $20-$65.

ONEHOPE operates under a mission to inspire their entrepreneurs to make an income while making an impact. Consultants earn 20-27 percent commission on sales and an additional 3 percent on team sales.

Started in 2007, Sipology is a direct sales company that sells premium and ethically sourced teas in flavors like Cola Tea and Sweet Salted Caramel Matcha. Sipologists earn 25-40 percent commission on sales by assisting hosts with parties, and the starter kit is $99 to get started. Sipologists must have at least $500 in sales over a three-month period to remain active.

8. Tastefully Simple

Founded in 1995 by Jill Blashack Strahan , Tastefully Simple is a direct sales company focused on delicious foods that are easy to prepare. The products offered range from meal kits to mixes, soups, snacks, meal kits, and seasonings. Joining requires a $25 advanced payment, which can be applied to a future order. New Distributors start at the Basic Level, where they have a free affiliate website and can earn free products for every $50 spent. By hosting parties and selling products, Distributors can earn a 5-12 percent commission. They also have a wide variety of wholesale priced starter kits for new and established Distributors, ranging in price from $26-$400.

10. Thrive Life

Thrive Life sells simple, clean food like fresh freeze-dried snacks, foods, seasonings, sauces, and accessories. They have two starter kits, the $100 Social Seller, and the $220 Business Builder kit. Consultants receive on-going commissions on orders and can get paid up to six levels deep for team-building activities.

Founded by a mom who was facing the conundrum of cooking for children with allergies and food sensitivities, Wildtree sells meal solutions including gluten-free, organic, peanut-free, and kosher sauces, spices, seasonings, soups, dressing, and mixes. It’s $14.95 a month (website and back-office fee) to become an Advocate, and no starter kit purchase is required. Advocates earn commission on sales and team building activities, but I couldn’t find the percentages on their website.

12. Wines for Humanity

Started by Anton Steinhart, Wines for Humanity offers a direct sales opportunity selling wines from around the globe while helping families who are struggling with rent and utility payments. Since its inception in 2007, Wines for Humanity has donated over 6.8 million dollars to charity. Wines for Humanity is open to individuals in 14 states, and the cost for their wine advisor kit is $69, with an additional $9.95 monthly fee for your website. Wine Advisors earn 17-20 percent commission on personal sales and additional bonuses and commissions for building a team.

13. WineShop at Home

WineShop at Home is a Napa Valley direct sales company that seeks to give back and support soldiers and military families. Proceeds from their Honor Blend wine go to the organization America’s Mighty Warriors. When considering the sale of a business, it can be hard to know what to expect. The journey of business transition is full of unforeseen obstacles and challenges. No deal goes off without a hitch, and any first-time business seller would have a hard time navigating the process.

A commonly asked question in the business transition industry is “How is your deal going? Has it died three times yet?” Such a question may seem pessimistic, but the reality is that the majority of business transition deals end up “falling through” at least three times before the deal is officially done. It is important to be prepared and know what to avoid when selling a business.

Here are five deal-killers to steer clear of when selling your business:

1. Negative Factors Uncovered In The Due Diligence Process

When considering an expensive purchase, every buyer does research. This does not change when it comes to purchasing a business. The buyer is looking for financial assurance and a successful future as owner of the company. If the buyer uncovers some sort of drop in profit or revenue, the deal could die.

The longer negotiations go on, the more exhausted all involved parties become. If the process drags on, both the buyer and the seller are likely to become less enthusiastic and more stressed, leading to the eventual death of the deal.

How does one help prevent deal fatigue?

• Maintain consistent, clear communication.

• Establish a realistic timeline with milestones.

• Engage proactively with the buyer.

Having a structured plan in place will limit uncertainty and help prevent a deal from going stale.

3. Funding Issues

This is one of the more obvious and serious deal-killers. As business owners receive offers on their businesses, they or their advisors must ask some pointed questions.

Business sellers should ask the buyers to explain their “capital stack.”

How much of their own cash are they investing, and are these funds already secured? If the potential buyer is a private equity group, the buyer should have committed funds. However, some buyers position themselves as private equity but are actually going to try to raise the funds after they secure a signed letter of intent. This is obviously less attractive.

How much debt do they plan to secure, and from whom? Very few buyers use their own cash exclusively. Private equity groups and strategic buyers want to leverage their equity. Understanding how much debt they are seeking will provide important insight. If a business seller has multiple offers, a buyer seeking less leverage may be a better pick and more likely to close.

It is important for a business seller to establish clear expectations early in the process and to set deadlines for the buyer to provide proof that secured funding is in place.

4. Third-Party Barriers

Third parties typically do not care if a deal closes. Here are a few third parties that a business owner must think about when selling and questions that a potential buyer is likely to ask:

• Landlords: If a business is location-dependent, potential buyers will ask whether they can take control of the lease.

• Suppliers: Buyers will ask if there are easily transferable contracts in place with suppliers. They will also ask whether suppliers will continue any favorable pricing or exclusivity that might be in place.

• Customers: If a business has contracts, a buyer, knowing that customers are one of a company’s most important assets, will ask whether they are assignable. If a business doesn’t have contracts, a buyer will ask whether there is evidence to show that customers are likely to remain loyal to the company.

• Governmental authorities: Buyers will ask whether any state or federal-required licenses will transfer.

5. Failing To Define How Much Net Working Capital Is Included

Business sellers should not accept a letter of intent without understanding what they are likely to net from the sale. To understand net proceeds, business sellers must understand what is included and excluded from the sale.

Many transactions are cash-free/debt-free transactions. The seller will keep the cash accounts and pay off interest-bearing debt.

Some businesses may require a large amount of working capital. When this is the case, buyers will typically expect a portion of net working capital to be included in the price. Failing to define how much working capital is included has killed many deals. (Net working capital is typically accounts receivable, plus inventory, minus accounts payable.)

One can never be too prepared when looking to sell a business. Both buyers and sellers deserve peace of mind when going through such a demanding process. By avoiding these five common deal-killers, sellers can significantly improve their company’s chance of being sold and better ensure the right buyer is found.

Anyone that has been in and around the web or associated with direct sales may have heard reference to the term Party Plan . The party plan is a separate level of selling that has evolved in the past 60 years. Let’s explore and define “Party Plan” so you understand this popular method of selling.

Those that are not associated with direct sales or that understands the concept of direct sales and the function of this type of selling, may not understand the difference in terminology between “Direct Sales” and “Party Plan”. Let’s first take a look at Direct Sales .

Direct Sales is the act of selling products away from a retail location.  It basically is selling products one on one to people from your home.  Direct Sales as a whole can be comprised of many different types of selling.  For instance, someone can sell one on one.  There is also internet based sales which can be accomplished in many different methods. Finally there are home parties where you sell to groups of people.

The Party Plan method of selling is an offshoot of the Direct Sales method.  Where direct sales can be thought of as the industry as a whole, the party plan is a singular method of selling within the direct sales umbrella.

Basically the party plan is a way to market your goods directly to a group of individuals at a hostess’s home or at a generic location. It has become the main method of selling many different types of goods such as kitchenware, cosmetics, candles, home décor and jewelry.  The party concept is a strong and viable method in the direct sales industry and it has seen a lot of growth in recent years.  Many new companies have come on the market with goods such as purses, tools, food and lingerie. This is an ever expanding industry; so many more companies will be seen in the future.

There are many direct sales companies that allow other methods of sales, but use primarily the party plan method as their main focus.  The term “Party Plan” refers to those companies that focus their reps into sales primarily at a party instead of the other methods available that we see today. 

The party plan became an effective method of selling back in the 1950’s when Tupperware parties came into popularity. The sales rep would ask a friend to host a party at their home and invite their friends to view and purchase the goods in the privacy of the hostess’s home. The rep earns a commission of the product sales. It became a social event that became extremely popular.   

The Hostess would receive a gift for hosting the party as well as a discount for her purchases based on what her guests bought. The ability for the hostess to receive free or heavily discounted goods appealed to multitudes of women and the sales growth of the company was impressive.

Also involved is the recruitment of other women at these parties.  By adding new sales reps to the company and creating your own team of sales reps, the sponsoring rep also receives a portion of the team’s sales and revenue; an additional method to earn money.

The party plan also works at self-generating leads for future parties by the rep giving bonuses to book at an existing party or talking to other people she knows in order to schedule or “book” a party to sell more goods.

Today, there are many companies that do not allow sales of their goods on the internet because they understand that the strength in selling their goods is to get it into the hands of the customer. By seeing, touching and wearing the products, the sales are stronger and larger than by selling off of a picture or a website.   

Many companies that have been allowing sales on the internet as well as other methods are encouraging their sales teams into going back to the party plan structure as their main method of sales. They are realizing the power in this method and while the internet is great for telling other about you and your product, sales come from direct personal contact.

Understanding the party plan method of selling can bring you more sales if you are involved in a direct sales business or sell product on your own. Incorporate it into your business for a powerful presentation of your products.  The strength of the party plan method of selling is amazing and it is standing test of time.

You may have to call around, or do some driving. Many retail locations have been selling solar eclipse glasses this year and some places have been giving them away, but availability is "while supplies last" and that will be different for every place.

Here are some places to check. Remember, some may have sold out, and not all locations may have been carrying them. Make sure any eclipse glasses you buy are legitimate and include an ISO rating, an ISO number and an address, avoid any that say "NASA Approved," and test them before you look up .

7-Eleven, Buc-ee's, Circle K and more

You may not have to go farther than the end of your street. Many convenience stores and gas stations have been carrying eclipse glasses and may still have some in stock.

Eclipse glasses have been spotted at 7-Eleven , Circle K, and Buc-ee's locations and many individual stores may have jumped on the opportunity.

Walmart has offered a wide variety of eclipse glasses in different styles, so has Target . However, all of the glasses on their websites are shipping only which will be a little late, so check your local store for availability.

Warby Parker, Sonic offering free eclipse glasses

Prescription eyeglasses retailer Warby Parker began handing out free eclipse glasses at their locations on April 1 so definitely call first.

Sonic Drive-in locations are offering free eclipse glasses with the purchase of their new Blackout Sonic Float.

Does Amazon offer same-day delivery of eclipse glasses?

Online stores are great for fast service, but you may want to give it a miss this time. The   American Astronomical Society (AAS) does not recommend buying eclipse glasses online due to the number of counterfeit, unsafe glasses that have hit the market this year.

Do I need to wear solar eclipse glasses?

If you plan to look directly at the sun, yes. Even a brief glance may cause temporary or permanent damage to your eyes and eyesight.

"Do NOT look at the Sun through a camera lens, telescope, binoculars, or any other optical device while wearing eclipse glasses or using a handheld solar viewer," NASA advises . "The concentrated solar rays will burn through the filter and cause serious eye injury."

How can I tell if my eclipse glasses are legitimate?

If you didn't buy your eclipse glasses directly from one of the vetted venders on the AAS list or a trusted source, check the text on the glasses for the  ISO 12312-2 standard listing and the address of the company. But these can be copied.

Don't trust any glasses that say they are NASA Approved . NASA doesn't do that.

Test your glasses first by putting them on inside and looking at a strong light source. You shouldn't be able to see anything, according to the AAS, although very bright lights may show up but would be very faint.

Go outside, put them on, and look at sunlight reflections or glance at the sun very quickly. You shouldn't see anything around you and the sun should appear to be a "sharp-edged, round disk" that's comfortably bright.

Can I watch the eclipse without looking at it?

Yes! If you don't manage to get glasses in time, there are several ways to see the eclipse that won't risk your eyes with items you probably have around the home.

Anything with a round hole in it can be held up to cast an image of the eclipse onto the ground or a sheet of white paper. Pinhole projectors, colanders, a slotted spoon, a Ritz cracker, even lacing your fingers together.

Or you can look under a tree. The sun shining through tree leaves and branches creates its own pinhole projector, casting lots of little crescent-moon shapes on the ground.

The eclipse will last roughly 2½ hours in Florida, starting around 1:40 p.m. EDT and ending around 4:17 EDT. The time of maximum coverage will be just before 3 p.m. EDT for most of the state.

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.
