General Description
The Payer Quality Population Health Care Manager demonstrates clinical expertise to address the needs of specific complex and/or rising risk patient populations with a design to meet specific contractual and program related requirements. In collaboration with leadership, the team member in this role will identify, plan, and execute activities to promote effective communication with payers and drive quality performance for all patients.
Work Performed
Responsible for understanding the day-to-day work of the payer quality team in order to participate in multiple projects simultaneously. The Payer Quality Population Health Care Manager will help improve processes for medical record reviews, data exchange with payers,information sharing with providers, facilitation of appointment scheduling when needed, and other duties as required.
· Review medical records for presence or absence of listed suspect conditions for attributed patients in partnership with the payers.
· Participate in quality improvement projects as outlined and prioritized by the population health management office.
· Perform chart reviews for the completion of health maintenance screenings and other quality measure completion and evaluate the ability to close quality care gaps for patients.
· Perform outreach to patients as needed to assist with scheduling health maintenance screenings, medical appointments, medication reviews, etc.
· Partner with team members across the system (PRMO, PDC, etc.) on improvement projects related to patient problem lists, HCC/Risk adjustment, updating health maintenance documentation for patients with studies performed outside of Duke, etc.
· Utilize proven processes to measure a patient’s understanding and acceptance of the health maintenance plan and his/her willingness and ability to adhere to the plan. Educate patients as needed about the importance of maintaining annual health screenings and partner with other PHMO team members to improve the quality of care we provide.
· Electronically document in Maestro Care as needed, and other documentation systems relevant to the position (payer portal systems, etc.)
· Communicate and coordinate with all provider(s) and member(s) of the care team as needed to minimize fragmented care and foster appropriate utilization of services.
· Assist patients with understanding available access to care, coordinate resources to ensure appropriate utilization, and educate patients on the importance of working closely with their primary care provider.
· Facilitate interdisciplinary communication across PHMO to include internal and external partners to ensure our population’s health continues to improve.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers internal and external to Duke Health System.
· Demonstrate the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.

Financial Specialist Senior/Intermediate (Remote/Hybrid Eligible Position)
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Financial Specialist Senior to provide high level administrative and post-award financial support in the execution of project grant budgets, financial planning, analysis and long-range forecasting.
Responsibilities*
- Assists in the analyzing and monitoring of accounting, budgeting and collection/billing activities
- Reconcile project grant budgets and expenditures in eReconciliation and M-Reports; review expenditures, investigate and resolve discrepancies;
- Troubleshoot procurement and vendor payment problems
- Evaluate and provide interpretation of financial analyses to faculty and division administrators; meet with them on a regular basis to review their accounts
- Monitor expenditures on grants and contracts to ensure expenses are appropriate according to sponsors guidelines and complying with Uniform Guidance standards
- Assess changes in revenue and expenditures to ensure sponsored funds are being spent by the deadline without overspending; proactively anticipate changes in effort and gaps in funding
- Effort planning responsibilities, including tracking faculty and staff effort to minimize retroactive appointment changes, initiate and submit Department Budget Earnings changes
- Work closely with ORSP and Sponsored Programs; coordinate budget allocations, review financial statements, FSR?s, and other compliance reports before being submitted to sponsors; assist in closing out projects
- Initiate and process journal entries as needed, complying with 120-day federal guidelines
- Assist in the preparation grant proposal and renewal budgets as requested
- Analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action with authority to make independent decisions within the scope of responsibilities, with little oversight or direction from Financial Intermediate Manager
- Coordinate accounting matters and collaborate with other departments, divisions, and campus
- Work with Financial Intermediate Manager and Department Administrator as needed for department reports
- Utilize M-Reports, M-Pathways, Business Objects to initiate and process financial activities
- Act as a mentor to lower level financial specialists in the department, providing guidance, leadership and workflow expertise
Required Qualifications*
Senior Level:
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years of post-award research administration experience is required, with proven high performance and a thorough understanding of the job responsibilities
- Retain a high sense of ownership and accountability for workload; be flexible and resilient in the face of change

- Experience managing projects from a wide variety of sponsors including National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, industry contracts, and clinical trials.

- Possess a strong understanding of University procurement policies, including business travel and hosting expense guidelines
- Advanced understanding of post-award research administration and policies, including Uniform Guidance restrictions and experience ensuring compliance with expenditures on research projects

Supervision:

Supervision Exercised:
Functional supervision may be exercised over project grant Administrative Assistants and/or clerical assistants.

Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position providing services to golf course customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist members and guests with pre-golf check-in, tee times & retail sales.
- Complete opening and closing duties of the golf facility, including cash accounting.
- Act as an agent of the facility to actively sell the services of the golf course through phone calls, sales campaigns, referrals, and face-to-face interaction.
- Assist with leagues and tournaments.
- Other duties as assigned by Ray Richards Golf Course General Manager.
Required Competencies
- Ability to interact and communicate with the public, staff, and co-workers.
- Customer service focused.
- Excellent verbal skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be able to complete training requirements.
- Valid Driver’s License.
