Where to sit (and not to sit!) on the Lufthansa...

Where to sit (and not to sit) on the lufthansa 747-8i.

Seth Miller

Having spent a decent amount of time on Lufthansa ‘s 747-8i during the press events last week and also on the inaugural flight from Frankfurt to Dulles I’ve put together a quick guide on which seats are good and bad on board the aircraft. I’m sure others will disagree with me on some of the suggestions I’ve got, but I’m OK with that. The seat map images are taken from the published guide at Lufthansa.com .

First Class

image

There isn’t really a bad seat in the nose of the 747-8i, but I’m quite partial to 1 A/K because of the nose curve. The D/G seat pair is a good option as a couple traveling together, though I’d still try for 1A/K.

Upper Deck:

With 86 92 (apparently I cannot count) Business Class seats on the plane there are plenty to choose from, at least in theory. That said, there are definitely some which are more comfortable and spacious than others.

On the upper deck I like row 84 for the extra bit of space in front of the seats. There is still a hard bulkhead there, but if you stand up and are climbing out of the window you’re not actually grabbing another passenger’s seat for balance. Also on the upper deck there are decent sized overhead bins, though smaller than those on the main deck, and the side wall storage bins are available for window seat passengers. The seats are the same as those in the window pairs downstairs, slightly narrower an angle than the center pair downstairs, making it a bit more cozy with your seatmate. Finally, the upper deck is a tiny bit louder than the main deck. Not a ton and not enough to bother me at all, but it is.

On the main deck the center pairs are my preferred seats. The slightly wider angle provides a more spacious feeling and more space on the shared foot area. Plus, no climbing over neighbors. The proximity of rows 4, 9, 10 and 14 to lavs and galleys makes them rather less appealing overall. Row 14, in particular, is where the economy cabin lavs are so there is more traffic back there. The pasenger to lav ratio on the main deck is pretty rough, especially compared to upstairs. I didn’t see queuing when on the flight but I wasn’t sitting there the whole time so that’s not really a great measure.

Overall my choice would be upstairs, especially if you want a window seat anyways. If you’re going for an aisle the center column downstairs offers the benefits of slightly quieter and no climbing neighbor, at the expense of a worse lav ratio and slightly busier crew serving that area.

There are, by my count, only six very good seats in economy on the plane. The are the four seats in row 21 and 22 A/K. They have unlimited legroom and 22 A/K have a window with a decent view and can get in and out without bothering the folks also in their row. The drawback of these seats is typical of other bulkhead seats: tray/IFE in the arm rest and no underseat storage. Those are trade-offs I’m willing to make in exchange for the legroom. The downside of sitting in this area, particularly row 22, is the proximity to the lavs. Expect to see a lot of foot traffic in the area.

Next up in terms of decent seats are the bulkhead seats at 22 DEFG and 34. There is a bit of extra leg room but you cannot stretch your legs all the way forward. And, like the other bulkheads, fixed seat dividers. The bulkhead at row 34 is also the bassinet positions so there is a decent chance of babies there.

If you don’t mind being the last people off the plane and the last people to get meal service then the pairs at rows 45-47 have a lot of space on the fuselage side of the seats. That space isn’t supposed to be used during take-off and landing, but there is a lot of room there once in flight.

The IFE boxes sit at the outboard side of the seat mount brackets for the A, E and K columns. This slightly reduces foot space at those seats.

The other interesting foot space issue comes in the DEFG column of seats. There are four seats but still only two mount points to the floor. The vertical risers are roughly about a third of the way in to the E and F seats. This creates a situation where there are only three foot wells for the four passengers in that area. The E/F passengers will have to straddle the mounting riser and share partially with the D/G passengers. Because of the way the IFE box is mounted at the E seat that column ends up having the worst foot space of any of the coach seats.

There are a handful of overhead bin locations which have cabin equipment at them, making them unavailable for passenger use. The Sky Interior overheads mostly make that a non-issue in terms of accommodating all the cabin baggage, but still worth being aware of the following limited locations:

  • 24 ABC/HJK has magazine storage.
  • 33 ABC has safety equipment
  • 35ABC overhead has bassinets

I sat in 31 D for most of the flight. I was quite fortunate that 31 E was unoccupied as that definitely helped things out. The four reasonably broad guys in the bulkhead at 22 didn’t look all that happy about their predicament, but they survived, too. More specific details of my in-flight experience on the Boeing 747-8i are here .

Economy is never a great seating experience and this is no exception, but it is definitely better than the old 744 setup and it was tolerable.

Very helpful info – thanks!

2 observations, Business Class actually has 92 seats, nit 86 as stated. And in one of the economy pics, I see outlets – do you know if all seats or seat sections have outlets?

Thanks for the correction on the seat count; dunno how I messed that up, but I clearly did.

Yes, the economy seats have outlets. In the center 4 column there are two 110v plugs per row, so you have to share. I believe there are two per 3 seat section, also, and one for the 2 seat sections, but I did not confirm that.

Thanks for the details. I would have thought they would get a better IFE system that does not use that box under the seat. Glad to see inseat piwer in Economy :). Any open seat is always good for me 🙂

Thanks. A great and informative post. In 2012 and with a brand-new airplane, I fail to understand why they cannot get those awful IFE boxes OUT or the pax cabin. Why not mount them on the ceiling of the freight compartment? If a few control functions are necessary, cable it to one or two of the galleys or even a locked box in one of the heads? Why is that ‘thing’ still in the pax cabin?

Soo we will be seating in row 81 in the UD.. Compare that to your suggestion of row 84.. Which one would be ideal.. Any really major difference??

Thanks for the continuing blogging 🙂

Row 81 is fine, too. Rather closer to the forward lavs so potential noise issues there, but probably not enough to really matter. You will be served meals first, which matters a bit more with the larger upper deck now, in terms of total timing.

How was the storage space? Overhead/under foot rest? Enough for a roll on?

Thanks for the pictures…I just did my seat assignment last night and the LH res agent didn’t know the layout of the aircraft yet. 🙂 I was looking on their website picking what I thought were the best.

He did say that 10A/C and 10H/K are held behind for anyone traveling with an infant in biz, since their is a bassonet area in the bulkhead of those seats.

The seat map shows a potential for some extra leg room at 34C and 34H. Does the bulkhead extend all the way to the aisle or is there some extra space for the aisle seats?

Just curious… Why are you partial to the nose curve?

” There is still a hard bulkhead there, but if you stand up and are climbing out of the window you’re not actually grabbing another passenger’s seat for balance. ”

You really aren’t supposed to climb out of the window.

One of the execs I was talking with mentioned that they had to get rid of all the windows which opened, other than that one in the cockpit.

As for the nose cone, I like being able to sortof see forward. That’s just cool to me.

Regarding 34C/H, I don’t really remember. Looking at the few photos I have of that second cabin I’m not seeing any of that area specifically up close. One of the photos sortof looks like it is a full bulkhead, but it is from pretty far away so hard to confirm. Sorry.

Thanks for the review and pictures! Next month I am flying on a Lufthansa 747-8 with an in-cabin pet. Am trying to find information about the under-seat measurements in coach. The Lufthansa agent whom I spoke with on the phone either did not have that information or was (for whatever reason) loath to provide it.

**I know Lufthansa’s specs as to permitted pet carriers (dimensions, weight, etc) — just looking for the actual measurements of the under-seat area in the 747-8.

Thanks, in advance, for your assistance!

I didn’t measure the under-seat space but I sat there so I can offer a couple thoughts. In the 4-across center section the mounting brackets holding the seats to the floor are spaced such that they don’t line up perfectly with the seats. This means that the space at the aisles is a bit wider than not and the space for the middle pair is less than the actual seats. Also, like most airlines, the LH seats have the IFE box under the seat so that could get in the way, too.

I think that generally speaking the space available was similar to just about every other plane I’ve been on. If you have a “standard” sized carrier it should fit ok.

Thanks, Seth! I was hoping that the coach underseat area was more capacious than other aircraft — glad to hear your perspective, even if it’s not what I wanted to be told.

Actually, there is little consensus as to the precise dimensions and weight of a “standard” in-cabin pet carrier: these vary from airline to airline, and in some cases from aircraft to aircraft. My carrier will fit, but it’ll be a crunch if there is really only 8.5 inches of clearance. (Poor dog! I sure wish there were a more humane way of transporting her to Europe with me)

Anyway: I appreciate your taking the time to reply, Seth.

Do you happen to know if the 32 row seats against the back/middle portion have limited recline? I noticed the same location (different number) on the 747-8 had limited recline, so I’m worried about that on an 8 hour flight 🙂

Thanks! Kelly

I know that some of the seat numbers move around with the two different cabin configs, Kelly, but I would assume that if the last row is limited on one config then it is likely limited on the other. I don’t think anything that far back changes, just the front where the biz/coach line moves.

I am flying from Dulles to Frankfurt in May and am in row 18. However, I cannot find row 18 on any seating chart other than where I chose my seats. Any idea what’s up wit that?

There is an alternate configuration of the plane with fewer business seats and more coach seats; that’s the one with 18 in economy, I believe. I haven’t seen any maps on it and I don’t know if there is anything especially good or bad about those seats. But I’m pretty sure that’s what you’re getting.

My parents flying from Delhi to Frankfurt on this flight. I have got 22F and 22G reserved for them but still not sure if these are the good seats for them considering their age. Can you suggest please?

  • Pingback: LH 747-8 i Businessclass

I’m going to be in 32G incl. having my pet on board. Just want to cry when I read that those don’t recline, because of the galley wall behind it… Its going to be a hell of a 11 hour torture for me and my dog. I’m thinking about giving up my G (aisle) seat for two middle ones further back in the plane, since those will recline normally. Thoughts?

My guess is that your dog won’t notice the lack of recline. 😉

That said, it would depend to me on whether it is an overnight (recline becomes more important) versus a daytime flight (less significant, IMO).

Thank you for your write-up. It looks like you were flying the 747-800 v1, a bit different from v2 . Still, quite helpful.

Definitely on v1 as this was on the first day it flew. 🙂

The v2 option came out about 6-9 months later IIRC.

We will be flying Lufthansa 747-800 v2 (not the rocket!) next year to Germany and are assigned seats 16b &16c which seem to be fairly good. My wife & I are both tall 5’10” & 6′. Close to exits & potties. What do you thing.?I have not seen much on the poor section of the “V2”

I think those will be pretty typical economy seats. Nothing to be too excited about one way or the other.

Great! Thank you. Alan

Absolutely avoid all middle seats in economy except for those in the front of each section. I was in 24F IAD – FRA and it was total hell. Had to share the footwell with the other middle seat, couldn’t lift my arms to eat, and got elbowed in the face at least five times in the night by the two big guys on either side of me while they were shifting in their sleep. If you must do it, either don’t fly or fly an airline that has economy plus. These seats are absolute torture.

Business Class 64 201-1153
Economy Premium 38 1824-2732
Economy 31 17.120-23, 29-58308

Seat 31A is quite cramped as the side wall lining is quite massive in the emergency door surround. While seats 31 B and C have normal recline (just a curtain behind) Seat 31A has limited recline, due to the attachment of the curtain to the wall. The toilet is far enough away to be of no special concern. There is no light from the toilet which would be especially disturbing on night flights. I can not understand why LH is charging extra for this seat officially being in a "preferred zone"

Row 29 is great, lots of legroom, no problem to put your handluggage under the seat in front of you and still fully stretch your legs. Premium economy seat backs in front recline far, reducing available space and makin it hard to leave the seat during flight. In that area of the plane 3 windows are missing due to air condinioning ducts running along the sidewall, for seat 29H this means you need to lean forward a bit to have a view to the window. On the other hand this makes it very comfortable to rest your head against the wall for sleeping. Airflow in the ducts and in the plenum above however makes this area of the aircraft fairly noisy. Air conditioning noise clearly dominates over engine noise.

This my nightmare to fly this plane (I am frequent fl.) . It is impossible to fly in Economy more then 8 h . There is no place for legs - best if the passenger would not have legs and the position of the passenger is the worst possible - just to break your back bone. Premium Economy is however good. My dreams: why do not construct seats like drawers and put all in horizontal. But...! Please no buts - engineers invent how to do it to be horizontal but at the same time being able to sit for meal. If impossible I will quit the meal...

Standard seat but airplane frame starts to get narrower at this point, so leg/feet room under seat in front is limited by 25-30%.

This is not a good seat. I flew it on 25/26 Sep 2018 YVR-FRA. I paid for P/E, but there is no separate P/E cabin, or even a proper divider (just a quarter-height screen). So, I could at once see that Economy pax immediately behind received exactly the same meals, service, etc., as P/E. 0nly their seats were slightly narrower. My seat was very uncomfortable (I ended up sitting on folded blanket, and even my inflated neck roll, to ease pain). Impossible to get out of this seat without either disturbing or climbing over pax in 27H. A bassinet was fixed to bulkhead at front of P/E cabin and an economy pax was brought forward to sit there with her infant - which screamed most of night! No headphones provided, only cheap earbuds. Poor service overall. Unimpressed. Not value for considerable extra money paid.

Overhead bins for the front 3 rows are not as big as standard bins and do not fit standard hand luggage sizes for LH.

I flew in this seat on a FRA>SEA trip and to me, this seat is GREEN. it is located directly behind 53B, but as there is no 54A, you have an empty foot well in which you can store your personal item giving you a completely empty foot well yourself to enjoy for the flight. While the padding is a bit thin for a 9+ hour flight, the soft product that Lufthansa provides is excellent. I would have no problem flying this seat on a transatlantic long-haul again.

I paid for an upgrade to Premium Economy from SEA>FRA and ended up in this bulkhead seat. For me at 6'-3" it was far less comfortable than a standard coach seat. While the extra padding was nice, I found the legroom to be so restricted as to make this seat completely undesirable. In the future, if these seats were all that was available in PE, I would opt for coach any day.

I normally fly Air Canada business class, and didn't check the seat configuration (or realize it was a LH flight). 4A is a window seat. When the neighbouring aisle seat is occupied by a stranger, who promptly falls asleep, you are stuck! You either have to wake them up, or climb over them (rather inappropriately). Fine seat if you are flying as a couple.... As it was, I was stuck in my seat for 6+ hours.

All seats in row 29 provide extra legroom. Row 29 has the same seat-spacing to row 28 as in premium economy class. There is no bulkhead between the two rows, just a small divider above the seats. Only possible downside is a minimally reduced seat width due to the monitors and tray tables which are stored in the armrests.

Not very comfortable seat. Because the reclination is limited due to the presence of galley. Very noisy due to the presence of crew with the trolleys in the galley. Would not recommend this seat.

Is considered as a preferred seat but is actually narrow as it is located at the extreme of the nose of the 747.

Row 29 has rigid seat dividers and are extra narrow. Legroom is great, width is uncomfortable. The light will not light up this seat and there are no individually controlled air vents.

Great seat, I am not extremely tall (1.79 m) but I could almost fully extend my legs. Lots of knee space. Even though it is a window seat I could go to the bathroom any time without disturbing the other passengers in my row. Recommended.

Seat 24D is offset to the corridor and therefore more of a red seat than a yellow, as not only is the galley very close, your feet are actually in the galley/iorculation

Lufthansa Boeing 787-9 Allegris seatmap preview

This is Allegris, Lufthansa’s new cabin concept. The new Business Class section features a total of 7 distinct seating options: “Suite” - Seats in row 1 at the front of the Business Class section are especially large and feature privacy walls and sliding doors. They are also fitted with special amenities like a minibar and a personal wardrobe. These are sold at a premium.“Extra Space” - Seats 2E, 4E and 6E have additional stowage and work spaces for the perfect office in the sky.“Privacy” - Seats 2A, 2K, 4A, 4K, 6A, 6K and 8K are window seats furthest from the aisle providing a more private atmosphere. “Extra Long Bed” - Seats 3D, 3G, 5D and 5G convert into extra long beds as the name implies (2.2m or 86.5in) providing a perfect sleeping experience. These also feature a flexible divider between seats so they can be used for solo travellers or couples. “Privacy with Baby” - Seat 8A at the back of the first cabin offers additional privacy and a baby bassinet to the side of the seat. The lavatory with changing facilities is not far behind. “Double” - Seats 7D and 7G in the last row are ideal for couples. The movable partition allows for a shared dining experience and the conversion into a double bed for sleeping. “Classic” - Seats 3C, 3H, 5C, 5H, 7C, 7H and 9H are classic Allegris Business Class seats situated nearer to the aisle while still offering a partial window view. All Allegris Business Class seats can be individually cooled or heated and have 18” 4K entertainment screens. AC and USB outlets as well as wireless charging are standard amenities as are noise cancelling headphones.

Lufthansa’s Allegris Premium Economy also feature newly developed seats. The 28 seats feature more privacy and a 39” (99cm) seat pitch. The fixed shell back with a sliding recline mechanism avoids disturbing the passengers in the row behind. The seats also feature a foot rest as well as AC and USB charging. A 15.6” 4K monitor coupled with noise cancelling headphones provides an excellent experience for the inflight entertainment system. Seats in the first row of Premium Economy feel more spacious due to the added knee space. The proximity to the galley might bother some, though. The last row is not well separated from the Economy class section so it is best avoided for a calmer experience. The lavatories shown in front of this cabin section are likely to be reserved for Business Class only so passengers would likely need to share the economy lavatories further back.

Lufthansa’s Allegris concept also extends into the Economy class section. The seats offer a much improved entertainment system. The screens are now an impressive 13.3” at a 4K resolution and feature bluetooth connectivity for passengers’ own headphones. Lufthansa now offers seats with at least 3” (7cm) additional legroom. These can be found in the first rows of each section. In particular: Seats 16C and 16H as well as 28A and 28K have the greatest legroom. However, the tray table and entertainment screen would be found in the arm rest constricting the seat width somewhat. Row 26 is close to the lavatories so it is best avoided as are the last two rows close to the main galley. Also be aware that seats 39A and 39K are missing a window. It is worth noting that Lufthansa allows for the purchase of an additional empty seat for more privacy and space.

airport. The lounge was extremely crowded and there was basically not any place to sit – guess guests should have felt at home because I find most lounges to be utterly forgettable. There was no separate place for F class guests and the entire experience did not have anything premium about it.

. I flew them a long time ago in Y, it would be nice to try their premium offering but it's quite a fair way down on the bucket list at the moment.
( ):
didn't do this (excuse me for comparing everything to my only F experience)- possibly as I wasn't able to use the chauffeur drive service.

can do -especially having 3 different layouts (old First Class, B744 First Class with Bed and New First Class). needs to streamline their top notch First Class to one product!

flight in economy, and I can see why you were disappointed. But other than that great report again! The food options looked pretty good as well. By the way, I just posted my report from a couple days ago, hope you have a chance to read it!

. I truly enjoy reading your 's and am deeply jealous of your travels!

Chettinad is a region 400KM south of (closer to TRZ) in Tamil Nadu state. It is famous for its cuisine and beautiful palaces.

Happy holidays
( ):
for it. Rather, it is a limitation of the airport and how it was planned. There isn't much space for extra lounges. So carriers share the common lounge. If the airport had two separate levels for arrivals and departure, maybe there would have been more space for lounges.

’s F seats basically look like a regular J cabin on most airlines. Of course, having recognized it themselves, give you two seats with one being used for a turndown service.

as it was probably the only option for a one stop flight at last minute with a price that was not phenomenally exorbitant. I flew - - and back. I was surprised still had openings on the date i wanted to depart and fly back as this is peak season to go to India. And soon it became apparent why.

On the outbound the 747-400 A/C utilized on both my sectors outbound were the OLD and soon to be retired 747-400 equipment. They did not have Personal IFE. Only overboard monitors. And old crampy seats. The interiors were showing their age. On the inbound the - flight was still with these old interiors. Its only on the - segment we got a 747-400 with updated interiors and the personal IFE which was not adequate by today's standards. The new economy seats which were thinner and provided about an inch of more leg room. Now i can understand ignoring the market. Its a beggars cannot be choosers market with only 3 nonstop flights to Europe and a much smaller market than . But what surprised me was that the flights are with equipment that are older, with clearly outtdated interiors. You would think they would be trying harder to compete specially when they have somewhat better product on the 744's and then the newly inducted 748's.
( ):
.

Do you have an opinion why is this so ?
( ):
night flights which left me starving, I quite liked this approach.

is this something dedicated for Indian market or new concept
( ):
but my statistic shows 90% of flights using jet bridges
( ):
is concerned for its passengers health and own profit ... with starvation and distribution of healthy food ( apples and rye bread ) one small-slim size pajamas is a goal for passenger ... lighter passengers ,less fuel consumption ,higher profits ... the same as the NEK seats but more subtle approach ... and you are aviation consultant ? hheheehehhehe
thanks Alex for nice report , wish you all the best and hope that you will continue with your hobby ... stipica
( ):
, thanks for sharing!
Now we are able to match up with the standard leg, too bad your A/C still was not reconfigured. Hope the new product is better in terms of hard product.
Nice to see that you had a great chat with Ms Sonia, That does make the flight. I had the same thing on my - flight.

Greetings

. And then, Korean Air was another airline I've flown with (my mother lived in Seoul) and just a friendly smile would always warm my heart. Air France (I went to school in Paris) was another major part of my travel experience and I've never had any issues with them except for just one time, a delayed bag, but this is just material so I do not really hold it against them. Northwest was always above and beyond in my personal opinion over and above any other USA-based airline with their special touches. And finally KLM, which I fell in love with them last winter. They are so welcoming when you reach the bottom of the jetway and they really exude this genuine warmth. I have also had some of the best experience with so reading your trip report brought me back to the period of my life where I frequently flew - . I'm a sucker for a friendly face. I could care less about food (I am a foodie) but I am a little old-fashioned and I miss the days when fellow human beings treated one another with decency and respect. I am only 33 years old, but I have lived a lifetime and the things I value in life are not monetary and superficial. I have been privileged throughout my life thanks to travel and the exposure of culture. All of the airlines I have mentioned have made some little impact/spark and it just so happens that now, they are members of Skyteam.

I hope I've answered your question with clarity and I would also like to thank you for your trip reports. I have followed them/you for some time before joining a.net so I hope you know you are appreciated with your effort and valued information.

Thank you and bon voyage,

Air Afreak =]

Lufthansa seat selection, lufthansa: general information.

Lufthansa Seat Selection

The Lufthansa airline has 263 planes flying to over 200 destinations, operating in about 78 countries. The airline is one of the most popular in the world, amassing huge funds since its establishment in 2000. It often uses a four-cabin plane consisting of Economy, Economy Premium, Business, and First cabins. The Lufthansa seat selection is straightforward, thanks to charts and maps accessible to passengers traveling long and short distances.

The airline’s entertainment tools ensure smooth and pleasurable travel. Passengers can see their favorite movies, enjoy TV shows, and listen to their favorite songs. They can read countless newspapers, magazines, and journals in different languages. All Lufthansa airplanes come with internet access sponsored by Flynet for passengers to stream and browse while on a flight.

You can travel with your pet the next time you fly since the Lufthansa seat assignment has a friendly pet carrier that you can easily fit under the seat opposite you. Pets will only be moved to the cargo area if they are too large to fit under it.

Lufthansa Airlines is deliberate in its quest to make things easy for its passengers. Features like late-night check-in, rebooking in case of emergency, and lounge services are all available to ensure you have a stress-free time before your flight.

Lufthansa First Class seats

Lufthansa First Class seats

The First Class Lufthansa seating comprises eight seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. They have no noticeable disadvantages, even though they aren’t ensuite. With a 180-degree recline, these seats can become flatbeds. Passengers enjoy AC power outlets for charging devices and on-demand TV.

Securing a seat in the First Class costs more than other cabins. As the Lufthansa seating chart shows, all First Class seats have enough legroom for passengers to be more comfortable. Passengers will be given a menu from which they may choose their favorite meals.

Lufthansa Business Class seats

The business Lufthansa seats are arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration. Those in this cabin are comfortable and suited for long-haul journeys.

The bad seats in this cabin are those close to the lavatory and galley. However, the structure of the Business cabin ensures you have a pleasurable trip. It is designed with an armrest and extra space. Also, passengers will enjoy meals on the flight, including alcohol, beverages, etc.

Like the First Class cabin of the Lufthansa airlines seat selection, Business cabin ones are comfortable and have in-flight amenities like AC power and on-demand TV. Lufthansa structured this cabin in their aircraft to ensure they are convenient for long-haul flights.

Lufthansa Business Class seats

Lufthansa Premium Economy Seat

Lufthansa Premium Economy Seat

The Lufthansa Premium Economy seat does not have as much space as the Business Class cabin. However, they are recliner ones and come with AC power and on-demand TVs like the Business and First Class.

Premium Economy seats on Lufthansa are similar to the Economy Class. If you are looking for the best seats in the Premium Economy class, check for those with floor storage during landing and takeoff, seat width, proximity to the galley and lavatory, and window seats. Some Premium Economy seats come with extra legroom, which may be due to the exit in front of them.

Economy seats

The Economy cabin is behind the Premium Economy seats of Lufthansa. This cabin is a budget-friendly alternative to other cabins. Though it costs less to board this cabin, the cabin does not offer as much comfort as the classes.

Passengers in the Economy cabin do not have extra legroom, which other cabins enjoy due to the structure of the seats. However, some of them have extra leg space due to the exit or passage in front of them. Also, complimentary meal services are available to travelers on long-haul travels to ensure they have a pleasurable flight.

Avoid seats close to the galley and lavatory when booking the Lufthansa Airlines Economy class. These seats tend to be crowded with passengers seeking to use the restroom.
